07 z-oh-6 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 It is safe to use to remove bugs, tar, heavy grime, or to strip an LSP? Obviously, in a shaded area and on cool paint.

JerseyGator Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Now I could have used APC to get the rubber off my car from this burnout!
Sardian Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Me too! I watched to see a smokey burnout. But it did sound bad azz... It sounded great. In high school I drove a 1969 Camaro. It looked fast and sounded fast but it only had a stock 307 (built by me and my uncle for reliability) and a Power Glide transmission (2 gears: Not-Low and Not-High). I had people pulling up along side wanting to race all the time, but I just waved them off.
JerseyGator Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Oh yeah, I know. But for a video of a cool truck I was waiting on some rubber to fly......some smoke to go with those flames!! Me too! I watched to see a smokey burnout. But it did sound bad azz...
AudiOx Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 That might just be the meanest sounding truck I've ever heard. What'cha think, 40-45mpg city? Probably more like, 40-45gpm city?
Sardian Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I think Dylan was just being cautious with the truck, looks like the garage was at an awkward angle to get into with the house being almost in his way to pull the truck in. Oh yeah, I know. But for a video of a cool truck I was waiting on some rubber to fly......some smoke to go with those flames!!
Moz Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 That's the slowest I have ever seen anyone pull into a garage.....I watched the whole thing waiting on something exciting to happen. Sharp truck tho! I think Dylan was just being cautious with the truck, looks like the garage was at an awkward angle to get into with the house being almost in his way to pull the truck in.

Team Adam's Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Hey Mark, Yes its safe for paint, but like others have touched on, just don't let it dry on anything delicate as it can etch. APC is a degreaser by nature so it works really well to break up small specs of road tar, bug guts, etc. I use a few oz's in my wash mixture to strip wash... I like this method over Dawn b/c it allows me to tweak the strength to get a more aggressive or less aggressive mixture depending on my needs. I've even used it to remove burnout rubber and the track goo associated with a 1200hp twin turbo street truck doing AWD burnouts <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/van5H67j14A?rel=0&hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
BlueGenCoupe Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 If they're not bonded, Try the least agressive method and try using waterless wash to remove bug guts...if that doesn't work, use apc http://<IFRAME height=315 src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EOd80YR2LUc" frameBorder=0 width=420 allowfullscreen></IFRAME>
07 z-oh-6 Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 Did you try claying? I have clay, yes. Sorry I wasn't clear. I'm not referring to bonded contaminants.
07 z-oh-6 Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 Definately do not let it dry on your paint. I'm aware of that, thanks. I don't think any APC is meant to dry on paint.
NathanJax Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 This is where I would like to use it on paint, to strip wax whenever needed. Per Dylan, mix it with your shampoo when you wash and you'll be good
07 z-oh-6 Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 Plus like others said, you'll have to re-wax. This is where I would like to use it on paint, to strip wax whenever needed.
NathanJax Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Is it mandatory to dilute it? No. Even 100% APC won't harm your paint/clearcoat unless you leave it on and it dries, but I wouldn't want it stronger than it needs to be. Plus like others said, you'll have to re-wax.
07 z-oh-6 Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 For bugs and stuff, use APC 50/50 with water and don't let it dry on to the car. Is it mandatory to dilute it?
ChargerMatt Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Just remember that APC will strip wax, so that area will be unprotected unless you wax it again.

J Tegeler Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I have used it to get stubborn tar and other gunk off, aslong as the paint is cool and you dont allow it to dry it is good to go. Iw ill also add a few Oz of APC to my foam gun
