DTrem13
I really have been thinking about getting racing stripes lately for my 06 Charger. What color, I don't know. That's why I'm making this thread to get some opinions and thoughts on them. I really want them to go all the way around. Not just stop at the trunk/hood. I'm thinking about either white, matte black, or blue (like the Mopar '11.) Here's a couple examples I found online. ANY input is appreciated. Please share your thoughts!! koebot
Depends. What does your car look like? Edit: Sorry, didn't see it at first. Using Tapa. I would go with wheels before the stripes but if you do get them, the matte black and blue aren't bad. I'm not really a fan of stripes though. colodude18
Just remember they are a nightmare to polish around, and a b!tch to take off if you ever decide to. Just saying. I had racing stripes on one of my cars and would not get them ever again. Also, less = more. Unless they come stock. Like, say on a 2013 GT500. koebot
Also, less = more. Unless they come stock. Like, say on a 2013 GT500. I agree and even then it doesn't look the best.
BlueGenCoupe
Black out your grill and wheels and get the blue...Soo sleek and sexy!
Vink70
i vote no.... but if you do decide on them I prefer getting them painted on. looks millions times better, less fade, less maintenance.
Marylander
Go either subtle/flat black or those blue ones over the driver's side.
hslager69
Black out your grill and wheels and get the blue...Soo sleek and sexy! I agree the white ,black, grey stripes have been done to death. The blue stands out!
70'sChevyGirl
I saw one that was striped like this last week and it looked great! Same color and everything. Don't you have a buddy who can paint them instead of using the stick on??
redneck08sierra
I vote no but if you are dead set, I like the 2nd pic...not sure if it is flat black or dark grey
Marylander
And you have to black out the grille... Chrome on a car that's dressed with racing stripes is a rolling identity cross, if you ask me.
Feets31
Don't like stripes and hate the ones that go down the bumper. But if you must, paint them on.
ChargerMatt
I'm not a fan of the racing stripes. I think side decals on our cars look much better
Mongosg8
Did you ever think about fender stripes? They are pretty subtle depending on the color you choose.
DTrem13
Thanks everyone for your response. I'm taking every one into consideration. Did you ever think about fender stripes? They are pretty subtle depending on the color you choose. You mean like pin stripes? I have thought about them. Both my parent's vehicles have them. I just wasn't sure if racing stripes would look better than them or not. I'm not really set on one thing yet. Just kinda throwing ideas around in my head. Mongosg8
This is not my car I just found the pic but these are the stripes Im talking about. You can find them on Fleabay ..many different styles and colors. plus you can find the rear quarter strip to match.
koebot
^ Would look better without them, IMO.
livingwater
I go with the white. The wax is going to build up on the edges.
mjhpadi
I don't think the Charger lends itself to stripes, but if you like them I vote for the blue ones that run down the driver's side. I also think the matte black look OK but the would make detailing a real bear, if you get any wax on them it is tough to get off and looks terrible if any residue is missed. My first choice would be the blue, it looks best on your car, IMHO.
Kornercarver
I don't really think racing stripes look right on a 4 door sedan. But if you really want them, I would definitely use paint rather than tape.
Green Machine
I would go with the side stripes like on Matt's Charger!!!!! Very subtle and done in very good taste!!!!!!!
