  1. Welcome Joe. I am also from Missouri, Republic to be exact. Have you had your car at the Coffee and Cars meets over on Sunshine?
  2. Phillip, I see you are pretty close to Springfield. You might be interested in 417 Coffee and Cars that will be starting again on April 2. They have Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=417%20coffee%20%26%20cars. It is a lot of fun and there are always cool cars to check out.
  3. I use my Griot's Garage 6" buffer to apply Americana every time I wax my car. I use a spatula to apply the wax. I get a much thinner coat of wax using the machine. It is then very easy to remove the wax.
  4. I was actually amazed how well it worked and how easy it was to dry the van.
  5. I got my new Metro Air Force Master Blaster last week and finally had a chance to use it. I dried my Grand Caravan in just a few minutes and it was amazing how well it dried. All the cracks and crevices were dried and there was no water streaks after I was finished.
  6. I think I probably had my first successful detail sometime in 1968. Those were days when we used Simoniz Wax, Car Shin Was and silicon spray on the tires. We didn't have as many detailing products but we used what we had.
  7. I've been shaving with a razor my whole adult life. I never did like electric razors but then I haven't tried an electric in probably 40 years. Maybe they have changed and work better now, but I am perfectly happy with the old fashioned razor.
  8. That really brings back some memories. I had a 914 back in 1970. I should have kept that car and never gotten rid of it.
  9. I have to try that..............LOL
  10. I use my Master Blaster Sidekick to blow water out of my hose any time I use the hose during the winter. Before I had my Sidekick, I used my air compressor to blow out the hose. The Sidekick just does the job much more quickly.
  11. SluggoZ...........nice to see you have migrated over from Zcarmotoring. Welcome.
  12. I spent some time with American Wax yesterday perfecting the shine on my 350Z. Here are a few pictures showing the reflections. Picture of the trunk lid looking out of the garage. The side of the car showing the reflection of my neighbor's house. A reflection of me on the rear bumper.
  13. It seems to me the quality of Craftsman tools started going downhill about the same time that K-Mart purchased Sears.
  14. Here are a couple pictures of my car.............
  15. Those Amphicar pictures bring back some memories. A friend of mine had an Amphicar in the mid-1960's. We took that thing out for joy riding and always ended up going in the river with it. Many times, people called the police to get us "rescured" since they thought a car had gone into the water. Those were some good old days. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
  16. Here are a couple lf my pumpkins.............
  17. Here are a couple pictures of my work area...............
  18. Here is my new garage and house. We moved about 6 weeks ago so things are starting to get organized.
  19. I graduated from SIU Edwardsville in 1965. That was a long long time ago.
  20. I don't know if there is any science involved, but the process seems a lot like spit shining my boots when I was in the Army. I know it worked for the boots.
