  1. On the container of Zymol Creame, it says to store it in the refrigerator. So now, my Americana is in the refrigerator. (My wife isn't too excited about that). What is good for Zymol should be ok for Americana.
  2. Was that at the show in St Charles? If so, I left before I got to see all the cars because of the rain clouds that were coming in real fast.
  3. The Minivan is for the wife. I still have my 350Z. And I am old, gonna be 66 in November. So........Maybe I am older than Bill.................don't know. LOL. Les
  4. I just got a 2009 Grand Caravan last week. Here is a picture after my clay barred and waxed it with Americana Paste Wax.
  5. I don't use the applicator. I use a butter knife and spread Americana on the pad for my random orbital buffer. I still think there is a better way and the wax should come in a push up applicator like that used for deodorant. That would make it easy to put on a random orbital or a hand applicator.
  6. I just placed my order for my second container of Americana. I couldn't pass up this deal. Outstanding product. Les
  7. Here is a picture of my vacuum. Not only does it do a great job in the garage, it also cleans inside the house. I have a 30' hose for the house and a second 30' hose for the garage. Very convenient.
  8. My 350Z did the same thing when I first got it. I just put EBC Green Stuff pads on it and have not had a brake dust problem since. As long as your pads make dust, nothing is going to keep it from sticking to the wheels. Wax just makes it easier to remove the dust after it adheres. Les
  9. I spent the last day and half detailing my daughter's VW Jetta. It's 9 months old but this is the first detailing it has had. She lives about 200 miles from me or I would have done it several times since she bought it. Here are a few pics. I used my Griot's Garage random orbital with Swirl and Haze Remover. Then I hand applied Americana Paste Wax.................
  10. I was just washing it. However, my wax of choice at that time was Car Skin. It was really a pretty good wax but I don't think it has been made for about 30 years. Another wax I liked was the Simoniz paste in the yellow can. I don't know if it can still be purchased or not. I also sprayed the tires with silicon lubricant to get them black. That was about the time silicon was first available in spray cans. During the 60's, most people were only concerned with getting their white walls white. The rims on the American mags were usually polished with Brasso or Simichrome. There wasn't much available at that time to detail anything.
  11. White is not a difficult color to get shiny. Here is a picture of my 1992 Stealth that was taken in 2001. That would be about 9 years of daily driving for that car and it still looks pretty good. This car was detailed using Zymol products. I wasn't aware of Adams at that time. Unfortunately, I don't have the Stealth any longer (selling it was a bad decision) but that is another story. Les
  12. I've been detailing and washing cars for a long long time. Here is a picture I just came across where I am washing my 1966 Falcon. The picture was probably taken in late 1966. It was a 271 horsepower 289 4 speed.
  13. I got my APW last Friday but didn't have a chance to try it out until today. I'm very impressed with the ease of application and the shine. I've used Buttery Wax but I have always preferred a paste wax. I've been using Zymol Creame for years and have recently used Griot's Garage paste wax. The Americana is definitely easier to use and it looks like the shine is clearer and much "wetter" . Here are some pictures I took today......
  14. I have a Craftsman air compressor that I have had for years. I use it all the time to blow water out of crevices and it works great. It is an oil free 5.5 horsepower compressor with a 25 gallon air tank. I also use it for my impact wrench and various other air tools. I have it in the basement with the air hose running through the wall into the garage. I don't know how I got along without the air compressor.........it is now an indispensable tool. Les
  15. I got my Americana today as well. I was getting worried about the middle of the afternoon but the UPS man showed up at 5:30 with the wax. It sure has a nice smell. I was gonna wax my car today but it showed up too late......maybe tomorrow. Les
  16. At last count, I had about 40 microfiber towels. Most of mine came from Griot's Garage but that was before I was aware of Adams.
  17. I've been using a California Duster for about the past 30 years and have never had any issues with it. I've only used it on light dust and never apply pressure. Les
  18. Devin--With your name, you need one of these Devin D kit cars from the 1960's.
  19. I just got an e-mail about the white buffing towel being included with any purchase of Americana wax. I ordered mine a couple days ago and am now wondering if the early orders will also get the microfiber towel. Les
  20. I just placed my order and got my confirming e-mail. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. The neighborhood kids are always wondering why my garage smells like grape Koolaid. They don't understand when I explain that is is actually the smell of my car so I just go get them some real Koolaid. They seem to like that.
