  1. I don't really think racing stripes look right on a 4 door sedan. But if you really want them, I would definitely use paint rather than tape.
  2. I got my new container yesterday and the difference in the two containers is nothing short of amazing. The new one opens and closes beautifully. I had to wrestle the old one open so I could transfer the wax. That wasn't fun. The wax came out in one piece and was easily transferred to the new container. After 24 hours, the new container opens and closes easily.

    Plastidip

I used Plastidip on my front bumper below the grille. It has held up remarkably well..................
  4. The styling of the Hurst shifters hasn't changed much during the years. Here is a picture of my Hurst in my 1966 Ford Falcon. This picture was probably taken in 1968.
  5. I have an attic fan in my house now and had one for about 20 years in my other house. We had attic fans as a kid so I don't think I have ever been without an attic fan in the house I lived in. We use it a great deal in the spring and fall, but summers are simply too hot here to use the attic fan. The only downside is it brings in a lot of dust.
  6. I think the Americana containers have a tendency to cross thread. I keep mine in the refrigerator so it has not been exposed to heat. Here is a thread from over a year ago concerning the problem. I sent an e-mail to Ashley and was told that Adam's was not aware of a problem. It looks like this problem has been going on for long enough that someone should be "aware". http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5462&page=3
  7. 1961 Renault Dauphine. 32 horsepower with a 3 speed on the floor.
  8. I have both the California Duster with wooden handle and a microfiber duster. I used the microfiber duster a couple times and now use it to dust the furniture in the house. it does a good job for that. The California Duster does a much better job on the cars. I agree that the California Duster with the wooden handle appears to be much better quality than the plastic handle version.

    Veterans Day

Yes, they are my original pictures. I probably have around a thousand pictures but have only scanned about 150. They are all 35 mm slides taken with a Yashica J7 SLR camera. That J7 is probably an antique now. I'll bet no one can identify what is burning in the fourth picture.................

    Veterans Day

Yes, thanks to all the veterans. Here are a few pictures to share that were taken about 42 years ago...............................
  11. I waxed my Z today with Americana. I took a couple pictures after dark just to see how the shine looked with the lights shining. Here is the one that turned out the best...............
  12. Done. But............the survey asked for ages 51-60 and then 70+. Since I'm 65 I didn't have a place to put my age. I lied and said 51-60.
  13. 6spdg37s, With the kind of cars you are buying..............what do you do for a living? Just wondering.
  14. Americana is very easy to apply with a PC. Just use a spatula (butter knife) to apply the wax to the PC pad. Use it sparingly because a little goes a long way. Wax a section at a time and remove it with a microfiber towel.
  15. I think I'm becoming addicted to the Waterless Wash. Outstanding product.
  16. Mine is flying at half mast today. My flag flies 24/7 and is illuminated at night.
  17. I went a slightly different way with my plate. It is the unit I was with when I was in the army..........8th Engineer Bn, First Cavalry Division.
  18. I just waxed my Z with Americana Paste was and took a couple pictures. I thought I would share......................
  19. I used my Adam's Waterless Wash for the first time yesterday. It did an outstanding job. I have used the Griot's Garage Waterless Wash and found it to leave small streaks on the finish. I always had to use Instant Detailer after the waterless wash. There were none with the Adam's product, just nice smooth shiny paint. Although I was skeptical at first, the blue waffle weave towel worked perfectly. It looks like we have another excellent Adam's product.
  20. I just got my WW today and haven't used it yet. I plan to "wash" my car tomorrow.
