New boat!

Ironterp

Question

Picking up a new boat on Wednesday! I want to get it detailed and protected as soon as I get it since it will be live a salt water life. I will be pulling it out of the water after each use and giving it a soap and water wash. I'm guessing I will use SVRT to protect the vinyl cushions but any suggestions for the aluminum on the t-top? Would quick sealant work for that? Also I want to wax the hull but I'm not sure if there is any disadvantage to using Americana instead of some of the marine waxes due to the saltwater conditions? Any help would be great thanks

I don't know for sure but my guess is that the Americana would not last very long in that environment. I would think a synthetic wax would provide longer lasting protection. And it would be more cost efficient. I'm anxious to hear what the pros have to say about this.

And congrats on the boat ownership!

I was on the water yesterday on my ski and was admiring that Sea Hunt a family was putting in at the ramp.

a buddy of mine's father just purchased a Robalo R240 and im in love

Honestly adams doesnt really hold up on the water, just get marine grade wax. That being said i have had tremendous luck using Quick Sealant on my ski followed by 3M Marine Wax and the results are spectacular.

Good Luck with her
