on the barrels get some 0000 steel wool and some all purpose and the barrel will come surprisingly clean. I had to this on my newish wheels that I bought from another truck owner. All purpose cleaner and brush did not cut it. On the face I would not recommend using steel wool.

:iagree: I had to use some 0000 steel wool on some old wheels, too. It helped a lot, but realize some of that severe grime/staining/discoloration may be next to impossible to "simply" remove. Refinishing may be the only route to perfection.
