  1. Car came out great. BMW clear is definitely a hard clear. My experience with GM clear is that it's relatively hard too, but not nearly as hard as BMW clear. My step-dad has a M6 in Black Sapphire Metallic that we need to get polished.
  2. I always wipe the surface off where the filter seals to. This ensures that the gasket isn't still on there.
  3. No, they don't come with them. I never use the 2 I have anyway. I just pour directly from the gallon to the 16oz bottle.
  4. I'm a tax accountant at one of the top 10 largest CPA firms dealing mainly with banks and financial institutions.
  5. You weren't seeing things, there were Adam's products.
  6. The DWC will degrade the protectant on the wheels. However, if you have your wheels sealed and protected well, a majority of the brake dust should come off with just water from a hose. I personally don't use DWC. 1) because I don't have brakes that put off enough dust to warrant it and 2) it does degrade the protectant. I still have GWC, which I really like. However, CS mixed in a 36oz bottle with a foaming sprayer seems to work great as well. DWC has its place, just not in my arsenal with my current vehicles.
  7. Invest in some MF pads for the Rupes and then comment on the results. Makes quick work of swirls. It does tend to generate some heat though.
  8. Might have to try a different aerosol sealant that's on the market now that QS has been discontinued. Only complaint I had about QS was that it always gave me a headache, no matter how well ventilated the area was.
  9. Started out using Mother's and Meg's when I was an ignorant, young teenager. Then I started watching detailing videos, specifically Junkman's videos when he was still representing Adam's, and I decided to try them out. Now that I'm a sophisticated, well-educated 24 year old I have mainly all Adam's products. I have a few from a couple other companies, but I started out with the essentials kit from Adam's and haven't looked back.
  10. That's unfortunate. QS was so nice to have for wheels. Caused major headaches if not outside though. Good thing I have a can left still. Should last me awhile!
  11. Patriot wax. Or a special vehicle. Otherwise I'll grab a single soft or borderless blue/orange for wax and polish removal.
  12. I have all 3. Haha. I started with the PC, but it just took way too much time to get the results I wanted, which caused more stress on my body from the vibration. So, I updraded to the Rupes 21, which is awesome at quick correction. Unfortunately, it does not perform well in small locations and curves. That is when Adam's started carrying and selling the Cyclo which was introduced during a 15% off sale, so it was only logical I buy a 3rd polisher. Lol. Honestly, unless I'm working on a vehicle that has a lot of large, flat panels, I will grab the Cyclo. It's so versatile and is well balanced. It won't walk around on you and it's easy to control. There is little to no vibration. It's a great all around machine. So, unless you want to continue to use the PC with the 4" pads for smaller locations, I would go with the Cyclo. I like the Rupes as well, especially for correction power, but I rarely pull it out because of the Cyclos versatility.
  13. In the winter, it might go the entire winter not being hand washed. I'll spray it off periodically when the roads are dry. During the spring, summer, and fall. Usually once every 2 weeks depending on the weather.
  14. Too bad it's a 3 1/2 hour drive, otherwise I would be there...
  15. If you don't want part of the wheel to be polished when you are performing the polishing on the other portion, you'll want to tape off the portion of the wheel you don't want to be polished.
  16. Eh, I'm not sold. Looks dull to me... Only kidding! One of my favorite new gen GTO's! I love Patriot!
  17. Not the best for metallics though...the LED brings out all of the metallic instead of showing the defects.
  18. Personally, since it's parked in a garage and driven when it's nice, I would put LPS down followed by glaze and Americana or Patriot (or buttery if you don't have the former 2). I would then use the H20 G&G as a maintenance product once every 2 months based on your description of wash frequency and amount driven. What color is the SRT?
  19. I usually work on speed 5 or 6 when doing any type of correction work, no matter the pad material (foam or MF). However, depending on your clear coat, different speeds might work out better.
  20. I would love to see a sprayable air freshener/odor neutralizer, but that's a significant cost and there are already companies that do this. I would love to see a Leather scent one in a smaller design. I hate hanging them anywhere in sight and would love a smaller design so that I could put it in a discrete location.
  21. My favorite product for a daily driver is LPS. the longevity it provides for a daily driver is awesome, especially one that sits outside. However, if you're looking for a little more gloss, depth, and shine you can follow LPS with a wax. I personally like to do LPS followed by Americana on my white diamond tricoat GS so that it brings out the tricoat and metallic in the paint.
  22. I used SVRT before Tire Shine came out. The tires are always cleaned with APC before either dressing is applied.
  23. You can. I just recently did that method on the Colorado and SS. It's an extremely high gloss on the SS! If you're concerned with it getting on the wheels, cut out a piece of cardboard the diameter of your wheels and hold it up to the wheel while spraying the dressing on the tire. Let it sit for a couple minutes then spread! The one complaint I have about the Tire Shine is that the minute you drive in the rain, even if it's a small amount of rain, it gets washed away instantly.
  24. The borderless gray towels are wonderful for rinseless washes. Also for detail spray wipedowns, H2O gloss & guard and glaze. They can be used for anything though.
