Can the merino and wash pad be machine washed?

My 8 month old yellow lab decided to grab both the merino wool mitt and small wash pad right out of the wash bucket today while I was washing the truck. Both are covered in mulch and dirt, can I just throw both of them in the washer with liquid detergent?

I have washed the synthetics in the washer before and used no detergent. The merino i dont know about. The pads came out good. But it tends to dreadlock the pads fast

Eh, I wouldn't do it. I would put them on the grit guards and thoroughly hose them out. Take a comb and brush through them also.

 

The one time I put the synthetic wash pad in the washer, the mitt became dreadlocked and not as soft/effective as before.

Ok, won't throw them in the wash then. I'll try to hose them out as best I can, wait for them to dry and then comb them real good to get everything out, stupid Labradors!!

No big deal. Wash on cold, no soap, throw in dryer (no heat) , brush out and hang until completely dry. I bought 2 when they first came out and they look just as good as the day I got them.
