Questions about polishing with the flex

J.greenroyd

Question

Last night i started polishing with the Flex for the first time. It took me 3 hours just to get the right front fender and passenger door of a 2009 black silverado about 90% corrected. I had to do 3 passes of each polish, is this too much? Im working Severe swirl and Swirl and haze on speed 5, and Fine machine on 3. Does 3 hours sound like the right amount of time or am i taking too long, or am i doing something wrong thats not correcting it faster?

Justin, the time it takes for polishing is all irrelevant. Don't be overly concerned with the time it takes you, especially when working with a new machine.

How bad was the paint before you started? 3 passes of 3 different polishes does seem like a little more than usual unless your panel was absolutely hammered.

Did you strip wash and clay first?
