egott_91
Over Memorial day weekend (and a few days after) I corrected my brother's '07 Escalade EXT. This thing was in HORRIBLE condition once it was put under any sort of lighting. I knew it was going to be a fun task. I wasn't going for FULL perfection as this is a daily driver. I would say about 85% correction was achieved with this method. Most of the scratches left in the paint are from automatic car wash brushes and I am not comfortable enough to use a mini-rotary (a drill) on the paint yet to remove those. Process: Day 1 -Wheels sprayed down with Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner and agitated with the LARGE (for the face) and medium (barrels) wheel woolies -Tires sprayed with Adam's APC and scrubbed with fender brush -Wheel wells sprayed with Adam's APC and scrubbed with fender brush -Foam gun mixture of 3 oz Adam's Car Shampoo and 4 oz Adam's APC, rest filled with water -2 bucket wash, dried with Adam's Great White Drying Towel -Clayed with Adam's Clay Bar and Detail Spray -Rewashed Day 2-5 -1 pass of competitor's compound on Adam's Orange Foam Pad with the Rupes LHR21 on each panel (some I did 2 passes). Smaller panels were knocked out using competitor's compound on Adam's 4" focus pads with the PC 7424XP -1 pass of Adam's Fine Machine Polish on Adam's White Foam Pad with the PC 7424XP on each panel -Cleaned glass with Adam's Glass Cleaner -Adam's Revive Polish as a pre-LSP cleaner on the paint and wheels -Paint and wheels were sealed with Adam's Quick Sealant -Adam's Americana Paste Wax was applied over the sealant on the paint for a little extra depth and shine -Adam's SVRT on all trim and tires Onto the pictures: Foamed Entire truck was this bad Every panel was this bad. (Due to lack of protection and automatic car washes) After on the same panel as the picture above And for the final beauty shots I think the paint is a little cloudy after the polishing, oh wait, that's just the reflection Reflection off of passenger's side door Refection off of the tailgate

J.greenroyd
that took just one pass?!
egott_91
that took just one pass?! That panel was actually a 2 pass w/ the compound. Like I said, some received 2 passes, most just received 1 of the compound and 1 of the FMP. I accidentally deleted the picture of the panel after the first pass of the compound. egott_91
Nice results Erik. I always love those trucks..........when they're swirl free of course! Thanks! They're a pain to work with with all of the fake chrome, moldings, emblems, and curves in the panels.
blcksilv08
Looks great, what do you use to clean up in the crevices on the lettering along the doors.
egott_91
Looks great, what do you use to clean up in the crevices on the lettering along the doors. I had the taped off for the polishing part. I removed the sealant and wax with an edge of a single soft. You just have to be meticulous with it. On my Colorado I have used APC and/or car shampoo with the trim and lug nut brush. Just make sure it's really soapy to avoid swirls.
