Holder
This Camaro has spent the last few months at the performance shop getting a few upgrades. The owner lived 4 hours away and had set up for me to take the car when the tuning was done. I was lucky enough to drive this beast from the dyno shop to my house. I had well over 20 hours into this car to bring the paint back to as perfect as possible. Started with cleaning the wheels with Deep Wheel cleaner and tires/fender wells with APC. The 2 bucket wash was started with a rinse down and a foam mixture of APC, Car Shampoo and a little Rinseless Wash followed by a 2 bucket wash. I like to clay with the car still wet from the wash to save on Detail Spray. I'll use my wash soap instead for clay lube. This car spends most of its day inside so claying was quick using the "Made in Japan" Clay. I'm not sure where that came from, must have seent me a batch of the old stuff. I kinda like the old stuff better anyway. After drying with the trusty and absorbent GWDT I did a full inspection of the paint. I've done my share of black 5th gen Camaro's so I knew I would need to go aggressive on this paint to get great results in a timely manner. After doing a test spot with my Flex 3401. I determined the process that was needed for the entire car with the exception of removing a few deep scratches here and there. I used another brand xrta cut MF cutting pad with another brand compound to cut through the really deep scratches. Followed by Adams PCP with another brands MF cutting pad and actually finished Adams PFP and an Orange foam pad. Aaron@P2PQD

07stanggt
Looks great !!I noticed you quoted "I used another brand xrta cut Microfiber cutting pad with another brand compound to cut through the really deep scratches. Followed by Adams Paint Correcting Polish with another brands Microfiber cutting pad and actually finished Adams Paint Finishing Polish and an Orange foam pad".Unfortunatley I have the same issue but before Adams dicontinued Severe Swirl Remover, I loaded up on it.Bought a gallon, from one vendor and 3 or 4 16oz bottles from Adams and a local dealer. I do get a number of vehicles that are heavily marred and have real deep scratches that will not come out with Adams orange correcting polish, but do come out with Severe Swirl Remover. I understand that everone has gone over to a 2 step polish system in the industry but I think Adams should come back with a seperate product made exclusivly made for real deep scratches. There are times that even going over the same area several times with the orange correcting polish, I can do the same with one pass with the old SSR. Do not get me wrong, I love the orange and white combo for many paint corrections, but there are many times that I am glad I have SSR !!!
Holder
I do a good amount of mixing and matching pads and polishes to get the result I'm looking for. Most if the time Adam's PCP and an Orange Foam pad with do the trick for a one step polish and get done amazing results.
