Chemistry Majors:

Beemer

Question

It was chilly this AM when I got up before dawn for a two bucket strip wash of the Rocket.  Halfway through the wash I noticed something I had noticed before:  the water in the rinse bucket was substantially colder than the water in the shampoo bucket.  Both buckets were filled with the same hose.

Is there something in the shampoo that would make the water warmer?  Seems crazy but there must be a perfectly logical explanation.

Any ideas?

Which bucket did you fill first?  Water gets colder the more it runs out of the hose.    Or perhaps the suds in your shampoo bucket act as an insulator.

I did fill the rinse bucket first.  That might be it.
