All Purpose Cleaner and window tint removal

AvsBest

Question

Just wanted to share that I just removed some window tint and tried everything I could think of to remove the glue but none worked and I was getting quite frustrated when I had a flash... Let's try good old APC and let me tell you it worked like a charm.

1) Remove the film

2) Spray APC liberally on the window

3) Remove with glass towel

You stil have a to spend some time scrubbing the window but it is working.

As I said, you still need to scrub the window and it is not that pleasant but APC was the only product that I had that would actually allow me to remove the glue.

Just don't want you guys to think that it will take you 10sec to do a window. It took me 5-10min to get the glue completely off.

The trick is to remove the film with the adhesive still on the film. Heating the outside of the window up with a heat gun works fairly well most of the time, best thing is to have a steamer though. But of course things don't always go as planned and I may have to try this the next time the film removal process doesn't cooperate
