Baked carbon chrome exhaust tip?

Seems that over the winter my wife's Volvo XC90 chrome exhaust tip built up a good layer of baked on carbon. Any input to remove this easily would be appreciated.

 

I've already tried APC and a degreaser without success.

 

I was actually thinking oven cleaner would work but thought I'd ask before trying anything stupid.

Metal polish 1 &2 works on all my exhaust tips. But I run deisel so it maybe easier to clean off.

When tips are really bad for me, I hit it with 0000 steel wool, then the metal polish combo. Great results every time! Good luck!

Try DWC and see if it helps, if not then try MP1 + 0000 steel wool.
