Gen 3 Pads Question

I have a Porta Cable and I have the dimpled type pads.  I guess those are the Gen 2 pads.  I am getting ready to do a complete detail on my car which is of course wash, clay, paint correction, polish, (paint sealant maybe)  glaze and wax.

What my question is should I change to the gen3 pads or are the older pads the same as far as the color goes.  Orange for the paint correction and the with for paint finishing?

Hi Jack, the new Gen 5 pads have an improved high-grip Velcro backing for max adhesion to the machine and a firmer, neoprene mid-layer between the Velcro and the foam face for maximum mechanical movement from the polisher to the paint surface, which produces faster and better results.  The pads also have a center cooling hole and a flat foam face for stability.

 

There is nothing wrong with the older generation pads - they still work fantastic and I have a bunch in my arsenal...but the new pads are better! Hope that helps

Jack, You are correct the colors haven't changed.......Orange pad -PCP  White pad - PFP.

Thanks Chris, would have see a difference in the new padfs over the old as far as results go?
