Need some advice!

I've just recently got into the detailing madness. When I bought my car I didn't know the proper steps for maintaining a vehicle. The picture below is the barrels of my wheels on my 2012 civic. I haven't got a clue how to remove this. I've tried APC with a stiff brush, nothing. Tried DWC with a stiff brush, nothing. I own a pc 7424xp and I was wondering if I could possibly wetsand with 3000-4000 grit sand paper and follow that with the correcting polish?

Have you tried clay on them?  It can sometimes remove those type of spots.

Plastidip them and call it a day.

I would want to ensure to give them a good scrub down with a stiff brush and either some APC or some DWC. 

 

If you do go with the Clay use something that doesnt have alot of life left as you will introduce SO much debris into them.

You may need a wheel acid for those.

Have them blasted and recoated possibly?

Let the deep wheel cleaner sit for 1-2 minutes then really go at it with the drill attachment and a 4" microfiber or a heavy duty brush attachment.

If cleaning fails I'd consider the already mentioned PlastiDip.

Try using some 00 grade steel wool and all purpose cleaner. I use that to Polish off the soot buildup on my dual chrome exhaust tips and works great.
