Polishing over storage

This maybe a stupid question, however I just bought a 2021 Mach 1 and overall it is in good shape. A few factory swirls, however I would like to work on it throughout the winter months since it will be in the garage under a cover. If I give it a good wash and put it under a cover could I polish sections of the car at a time over the winter or is this stupid? It will be garage kept till about March under a cover. 

 

I always seem to have a hard time finding time to do the entire car, figured this maybe a way around it. I am just looking for some opinions. Thanks!

Wash and clay, and cover, and you'll be fine.  I've done that many times.

No problems at all with that approach. Work panel by panel so you can easily keep track of where you leave off.
