Krzdimond
Neighbor has this itty bitty Toyota with a nasty hood and he came over and asked if I could fix it. Said that I'd "give it a shot" Looked like the clear coat was failing so I took it easy..... Process: wash hood w/ Adams wash FMP with Gen II white pad APW Before: SEVERE oxidation. Owner tried to use rubbing compound to fix it:help: ONLY did the hood, nothing else...... Passenger washer nozzle before: Drivers side: 50/50 first pass: second pass: 3 passes: done polishing: AFTER:

ss-truck
Good save ! Sounds like the car had the hood replaced at sometime in its life and the paint used on the replacement hood was not of a very good quality .

Krzdimond
So tell him you'll only charge him $500. :jester:Looks great! Rich, I felt bad taking the $75 for about an hours worth of work;) I also think that the clearcoat IS failing and will look at it again in a week or so, just to make sure. If the clear is bad and it turns white again, I'll refund him his $$ as he's on a fixed income...... and I couldn't fix it, just mask it, and the promise was to correct the hood. BTW, how long does it take for the oils in the FMP and APW to wear off?
