Where do You Store your ADAMs products?
j-r35 replied to whitechevy3's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I'm assuming i'm safe if they're on a shelf in a heated garage right? Haha, live in alaska and usually have my garage up to 70ish degrees during the winter. -

Adam's Quick Sealant on matte black wheels!!
j-r35 replied to BlueGenCoupe's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
super vrt for me on my matte blacks as i can't get the quick sealant to alaska. takes longer to apply but its worth it. -
Honestly, my can am is going to take a beating so i never really worry about the scratches. Just wash and dry it. Then apply some vrt and you're done. Mine sits every once and awhile and i'll either hit it w/detailer spray or waterless wash.

Thanks, yeah that's what I was a little concerned about hazing/cloudy paint. Same applies for americana i believe? Planning on picking up a mini strictly for my gtr.

New 2-Step Paint Correction System Discussion
j-r35 replied to Team Adam's's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Well it didn't start happening till probably i started going on the 2nd half of the hood, i finished one side of my tundra. Did it all in my garage. Speed was at 5, should i have started on 6? I did the other half of the truck on 4 since my hands were kinda bugging me, haha. Think i should have done 2 passes though on the orange pad, since upon further inspection, noticed a few little light marks I could have worked out better. Oh well, it was just a test since i've never used my the new system and flex. Going to go at it probably end of Aug. or Sept. Biggest issue is the truck is black and a pain to do over since it's so damn big, lol. I don't mind doing my gtr or wifes toureg as they're a way smaller surface area to deal with. -
New 2-Step Paint Correction System Discussion
j-r35 replied to Team Adam's's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Did my first run w/my new flex and mf pads. I must say the orange pad likes to dust a lot. Just a couple of observations but it seems you use alot more of the product than the other system maybe because they're mf pads? It was alot easier to correct w/this system and saved a ton of time, probably was because I swapped to a flex as well. Test vehicle was a Tundra, sorry no pics as i'm loading it up to go fishing and camping here in a few hours. I did hit it up w/detailer spray as another member mentioned after brushing per panel. I actually didn't use a ton of the orange stuff, probably a couple a drops more or less per panel as I thought using a ton was causing the dusting i was getting. Overall, i'm a satisfied customer, wasn't look for complete perfection but came close. Going to have to order a second set of pads, think that would have cut my time easily, haha. -
Gotcha, was planning on putting another coat since its been about a month or so on the wife's toureg. Just thought you had to strip the paint before applying a 2nd coat of wax thats all, thanks.

Was wondering do I need to strip wash before I reapply buttery or Americana? Also do I need to reapply mss if I do strip wash?

New 2-Step Paint Correction System Discussion
j-r35 replied to Team Adam's's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Finally going to get to do this hopefully this week. Just wanted to clarify a few points before i get started. -New system doesn't need to be hit w/detail spray? -To clean the new pads, hit it w/apc or laundry it by themselves? -Read that you pretty much have to clean the pads per panel as they dust more? Funny thing is i have pretty much full bottles of the old system, planning on using them on everything else/practice w/my new flex. -

General rv cleaning plus awning
j-r35 replied to j-r35's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Thanks guys, looks like the bank screwed up and i'll be sealing the deal Wedsneday instead. Apparently they forgot we're in Alaska and we're in a different timezone, jeez. -
Is the gen 3 for the flex or pc, not sure if they were interchangeable then or not. Let me know, might be interested, could always use a extra set of pads.

General rv cleaning plus awning
j-r35 posted a question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
So we just picked up a 29 ft chalet for camping purposes and wanted some general help on cleaning the exterior mainly the awning. It's in need of a major cleaning, was thinking of hitting it w/APC and my fender brush to get it close to clean. I'm assuming just car shampoo, maybe detail spray while drying, vrt any plastic and rubber, and glass cleaner w/sealant. I'd think about sealing it but damn its 29 ft, haha. Any other suggestions? Going to go give it a go around w/Tid tomorrow or Wednesday whenever it switches hands. -
Matte vs Gloss Carbon Fiber
j-r35 replied to j-r35's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
If only i can get quick sealant to alaska, lol. Looks like i'll probably end up doing gloss though since I can't find a reasonably priced matte/dry cf lip kit. Thanks guys -

Matte vs Gloss Carbon Fiber
j-r35 replied to j-r35's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Yeah I thought matte you can't polish or wax it. I know for sure you can do gloss. Just was a little worried if I went w/matte it would be a little harder to maintain. I'm still waiting on the design for the trunks at the moment to decide which route i'll go. May just end up doing the matte look since I have matte rims already. I'll post up the pics of the design once they're up. As far as clear braing, i'd think i'd do at least the hood because rocks get kicked up all the time and don't want to damage my 2k+ hood, lol. Baron, i'll pm you but I'm pretty sure I know which product you're talking about. -
Matte vs Gloss Carbon Fiber
j-r35 replied to j-r35's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Yeah, figured gloss would be treated as paint but how about matte? Anyone have any experience w/maintaining matte cf and if its easier? Looking at purchasing around Aug-Sept so wanted some opinions first.
