  1. Your paint will be okay to begin polishing in 3 days. the reason he suggested three days, is because for paint to completely cure it will take almost 3 months, but it is a progressive drying, so it will be softer now then in 3 months, but hard enough you can polish them. Your polish isn't going to be more aggresive then an automated car wash
  2. Got rained on this morning on my way to work, and was very pleased to see this! I put VRT on the window trim, and a little less obviously the piece of rubber at the base of the window on the door. I'm really liking this! and can't wait to see how it holds up over the winter.. Here in the Portland OR, our winters aren't very extreme, just very long. Untitled by CrazyCody93, on Flickr
  3. I really like the flat finish with all the contours in the emblem!
  4. They should just make air fresheners the scents of their product. I would probably lose my house because of how many waterless wash scented air fresheners I would buy..
  5. That's the only way i can see myself doing it at this point
  6. My question is how do you advise someone exactly in that situation without seeming offensive? I would have a hard time taking advice from someone on the street on how to detail my single most prized possesion you know? I dont want it to be that situation like 'dont tell me how to raise my kids' ya know? i would take it that personally..
  7. I'm also very happy using it in door jambs. On wheels is another good place I've found! I haven't gotten the courage to use it on a bird dropping yet, but i will definitely give it a shot.
  8. I feel like a lot of people question the use of water less wash, or see it being of minimal value. I think people anticipate it to be just a light dust remover. Well today i went ahead and used the water less wash on my truck, and snapped a picture while i was there, only so some people could get an idea on how much it will actually do. On Saturday i went to a truck show, and the truck was completely spotless. After it was over and i was waiting for a couple of friends to pick up, i ran into town to grab gas so there wouldn't be 6 people piled up in traffic while i was getting gas! When i got back i parked in a field the lead between the road and the show, as not to block up traffic. The field was extremely dry, and the dustiest dirt probably anywhere in existence. And i parked just off the dirt/gravel road. that all of the people leaving the show happened to drive by, so the truck had a TON of dust on it! But i perform the water less wash, just like Dylan's video advises, and walah! Untitled by CrazyCody93, on Flickr Now as you guys know, black shows everything. I can water less wash the truck from this amount of dirt, and the only places it left any sort of swirl, is where i neglected to move the towel. My point in showing you this is just so people can get a better idea on what level of cleaning this product can do, other then just a light dust removal.
  9. I just pour a small ammount out of the bottle onto the pad with the shampoo before i start putting water in the bucket. Seems to work vor me everytime!
  10. The issure here in the NW is depending on the winter, it may freeze, it might just be over night, could be a week, this last winter we didnt have one at all...
  11. I was skeptical at first, and i decided to give it a shot on my truck which is my DD/Show truck. I was working on it in a garage, under fluorescent lights and it didn't seem like i was getting any results, but i couldn't quit because those lights show EVERYTHING. So i went around the whole truck, and laid some wax over the top, and as soon as i pulled it out into the light was blown away at how well it shined. It made any flaws you have left, seem to just blend in, instead of standing out. And on my truck (black) as most people know, it's easy to see anything that's wrong with it. It is easily one of my favorites now, and even with everyones input, i don't think you'll be able to tell it's value until you try it yourself. I love it, and will absolutely recommend it, but my guess is if you decide to try it, you won't be disappointed!
  12. Are they typically? The confusing part was I sprayed entire window with APC and couldn't get anything to change
  13. Just saw your reply mook! I got a good chance to get the truck washed today, I started to hose it off, and the windshield beads water like new! I'm assuming there was just compound left on the windshield that with the small amounts of windshield washer fluid, and rain and dust, its been worn off?
  14. so when can we anticipate adam's new clay bar?
  15. I should be recieving my vrt this weekend and i definitely will give it a shot!
  16. The more i try to wash it, it seems like the spots are moving. I'm wondering after getting those initial stains out, i'm battling a very hard water situation? I always dry the paint on my truck, so don't know how bad the water really is? Maybe i need to be drying the bed out too?
  17. Between the stages of polish in this instance, i had couted that side of the windshield with adams all purpose cleaner between coats, and wiped off with a waterless wash towel. Thank you for the info on the wax also! Something to keep in mind!
  18. I have yet to get a good chance at looking at the refletions, in the area i live, and work, there isn't a whole lot of stuff in the air to use as a reflection. Is there a laminite on the outside of windhields? I looked up the how it's made video and they only showed the plastic go inbetween the two pieces.. And lastly, howcome do you advise against waxing?
  19. That picture was taken after the finest polish available to me me, but I will get some glass sealant and see what I can do!
  20. So a little background to my story, About a year ago i got a new windshield put in my pickup, Which is nothing special, but with the truck being so old, my parents gifted me the chrome trim that wraps around the window, because it was $360 for the set, on top of the price of the windshield! The windshild prior was heavily pitted, and had lots of rock chips from what i'm guessing to be was 150,000 of probably all free way driving. So i was loving the new windshield! One night, only a hand full of months later, i was driving home late at night, during one of our heavier rains here in the pacific northwest. As i'm doing probably close to 70, my windshield wipers came up, i heard a weird bang, thud, whack. and then a screetch as the wiper arm on the drivers side of the truck came down without a wiper. And there i was with a brand new, ruined, windshield! I pulled over as quickly as i could, until the rain slowed, and slowly creeped my way yo the closest store with windshield wipers! At that point i was livid. I took the last 10 minutes of my drive home with new windshield wipers, to think about what i could do. And i had heard about a guy wetsanding his sunroof to remove water spots, then polishing it back to new, but this had been probably years ago. With little research, i had heard of people removing light scratches off of windshields with automotive polishes, so i gave it a shot! My plan was to use a final stage polish, and work my way back until i saw little results, or could easily tell i needed to work my way back, to bring the glass back to clear! As i worked my way into courser polishes i continued to see better and better results! and my scratch was dissapating in front of my eyes! once i was done, i went to wash the truck, and disaster happened. The 7" area i had buffed with these automotive polishes, intended for polishing back from color sanding, has done something to the glass, where the water will not bead off of the polished area. After a few days of thinking, i realized i spent the most time with the coursest polish, and very little going back over it with the finer ones. So this after noon, i worked lightly back over it, with the course polish, and i strictly followed the directions on each of the polishes' directions very closely. In doing that, i also worked the whole driver's side of the windshield as to try not to miss any areas polished prior, because you cant see anything wrong with the glass at all until you put water on it! I know adam's doesn't have much for glass other then the sealant, but i thought this woud be an excellent place for a question such as this! Untitled by CrazyCody93, on Flickr You can see here how the water rests on the glass now, and i have no other plans at this point, and would love any advice on my situation I look foreword to hearing from you guys!
