  1. A continuation of my post above: that particular switch box was being overhauled to go from two single pole switches, one for the fan and one for the vanity light, to a tandem single pole and a regular single pole. These were to accommodate me replacing the existing exhaust fan with a light/fan combo, added in a recessed light in the shower, and replaced the Hollywood vanity lights with something more modern.
  2. Thanks for the tip, but I'm holding off on worrying about smoothing the wall out for now. The entire house needs to be repainted. The last time it was done there was apparently no drywall prep so almost every wall has pitting or they just put texturing on it. We're going to putting some work in to try to smooth out as much as we can before painting again.
  3. The wife and I are selling our house and moving to a different state next year so my weekend has been filled with upgrades/repairs that I've been putting off. I've been working on switching all the outlets and light switches to a more modern look. The holes that were cut out in the drywall for two of the boxes were a mess, so I decided to do them up right. Got one done and the other has been patched but I still need to get the new box cut in.
  4. One more thing. Believe it or not, Walmart has about the best prices on oil that I've been able to find. Aside from Amazon, but that's assuming you're an Amazon Prime member. The Pennzoil Platinum I use is $29 from most parts stores and $22 from Walmart/Amazon for a five quart container.
  5. I'm a fan of Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic and strictly use Motor raft filters....But I own two Ford's. Wiz has always been a go to brand of filter. And I'll second the motion of not doing an oil change every 3k miles unless you really beat on it (I'm talking track/strip time). If your running a decent quality synthetic and filter, I'd say every 6-7.5k miles is a good interval. Blackstone labs will do a used oil analysis for about $20 if you really want to dial in your change intervals.
  6. Time for some business cards and a Facebook page. On a serious note, I've got a friend who is an advertising graphic designer if you need a logo done up.
  7. The beautiful thing about LC is you can just go back over it with a clean MF and it'll knock down evenly without much effort. That's been my experience at least and I put that ish on everything except the glass.
  8. Congratulations and good luck! That's a big endeavor I'm sure but they always say the first step is the hardest.
  9. Got out and finished my weekend detail. I washed and dried the car last night. This morning I got out and put the wheels back on, pulled her in the garage, and gave her a DS wipedown followed by a nice coat of Americana. My stove top was pretty filthy with grease splatter from cooking some pork chops so I decided to try out Adam's there. I sprayed on some 1:1 APC, let sit for about two minutes, agitated with a dish washer sponge/scrub pad, wiped up, and finished off with GC.
  10. Pulled the wheels off today to give the barrels their first deep cleaning. They were cleaned with APC, Wheel Cleaner, steel wool, 3M adhesive remover to get the tar boogers off, clay barred, wiped down with rubbing alcohol, and sealed with two layers of Quick Sealant.
  11. Your attention to detail (read between the lines as OCD) is definitely something to aspire to. I meant to ask since you've had a month or so of testing, how's the trim coating handling the wheel wells? I've, coincidentally, got the wheels off the Stang right now for a deep cleaning of the back sides. I've gone no where near as far as you do, mostly due to a lack of product, but was thinking about applying the trim coating to the wells while the wheels are off.
  12. I think my eyeballs might implode if this thread doesn't get updated soon....*ahem* *cough cough*...
  13. Got out and washed the Stang. Just a simple Wash and Wax wash and wipe down with detail spray. Topped off the glass with Glass Cleaner and some grey borderless towels. It was mainly to get the week of gunk off before heading down to NC for a weekend with the kids.
  14. MORE PICS!!! MORE PICS!!! MORE PICS!!! Looking good from what the photos captured. Is that a sub in the passenger floorboard?
  15. We were forecasted for rain but it just turned into an overcast and mild temp'd day, so I washed the Stang. Just a maintenance wash with CS (had some paint work done and have about a week left on the cure time) and redressed everything since it rained most of last week. I also cleaned up the engine bay with some WCW and dressed with In and Out and some SVRT.
  16. I'll +1 the Bosch. I get mine from the local parts house, but have a 30% off coupon code on orders over $50. I usually just restock the garage with paper towels, brake cleaner, rubber gloves, etc whenever I need them. PM me if anyone's interested in the code.
  17. Delayed, but yesterday I applied some sound deadener to the truck of my Stang. Today, I got out and detailed the interior of the wife's Explorer and gave the outside a quick wash. No photos there as I was trying to beat the dark and rain.
  18. Myself, the wife, and my two kids. A more recent photo of the wife and I. And, of course, my furbabies.
  19. Hey man, being a fellow Sailor I know what it's like to wake up in the morning wanting nothing more than your family only to be greeted by blue-green vastness. Don't discount what you do. Plus, what would we do without guys like you to get us our Korean made MFs? My best gift was getting to spend a week with my kids who live with their mother in a different state.
