  1. Thanks for the replies guys! I kind of figured the aerosol piece had something to do with it.
  2. Hey peeps! Just wanted to pop in and say what's up as I've been dormant for a few years after selling off my beauty queen and life getting in the way. I have since acquired another beauty queen and getting myself back into the regiment of detailing. I'm looking at re-upping my detailing supply as I'm starting to run out of what I stocked up on and my MFs and polishing pads are at their end of life. Can anyone tell me what happened to the Spray Sealant? I can't find it on the site anymore. Pics of the new queen after her first deep detail and first time seeing rain after are attached for the pleasure of your eyesballs.
  3. Well the oil pan project turned out to be more than I anticipated. Due to time constraints and having 14 days of rain during the process I just managed to finish. I also replaced the motor and tranny mounts while I was in there and switched to Royal Purple Synchromax tranny fluid. It's going to be nice to have something to drive besides my Mustang again.
  4. Nice ride and have fun getting it looking right!
  5. QS really makes bug removal easy. After applying it takes little more than a soak and they will wipe right off. I would suggest taking some WCW and waffles towels with you to get them off and keep from having to wash the car and deal with water spots. Alternatively you could apply PlastiDip to the bug areas and peel it once you make it to your destination. That would also help with dealing with road rash.
  6. This is why I'm thankful for not having to deal with harsh winters. The worst thing we run into in lower VA typically is some freezing temps with the precipitation. On the few days that we see snow or ice the Stang will sit in the garage and I'll either coin op the truck or wash it at home using warm water from the sink. Thanks for the tips team...yet another reason why I love Adam's.
  7. If the company footing the bill says that they will stop paying then you only have about one option that I can think of. Collect as much evidence of the crap work as possible, have the repairs done by a more reputable shop, and send the bill from the new shop to the insurance company. They'll refuse to pay and you'll end up having to sue them to get your money. Again, this is only what I can think of but I'm sure someone else will have a different idea.
  8. If cleaning and airing doesn't work try two spritz of Ozium. Just roll the windows up, put the a/c on full blast with the windows up, and let it run for about 10-15 minutes. I use the same thing to get rid of the smell from cigarette smoke.
  9. I agree with both methods. I like using WCW as a presoak. I usually saturate the entire car with WCW, let it dwell for a minute, and rinse it off then proceed with washing.
  10. You'll be much better off stripping the wax, applying the sealant, and then re-waxing.
  11. Tell me about it. I just had most of my Mustang repainted and its swirl city all over from them just hitting it with a rough compound.
  12. http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/25147-garage-lighting/?do=findComment&comment=398218 Of course you'll need more than one.
  13. There's plenty to say about this. I've thought about doing this myself but I can't sell a car in good consciousness to someone without letting them know what all was in need of repair and I've got enough background with a wrench to identify problems just through a test drive. It's not a bad idea but be mindful that you may run into issues with selling a car that breaks down the first week with the new owner and having to deal with that. Also understand that if you do keep flipping them the odds are against you that you'll lose money on at least some of the cars. There's too many things with a car that can go wrong without in depth analysis. You could take one home and the alternator go out the next day taking the battery with it for example. There's also the matter of taxes. If you generate too much income and don't report it you could get fined if caught. There's a cap to how much you can bring in without reporting but I don't know it off the top of my head.
  14. I ended up grabbing a Metalux fixture from Lowes that supports four 32w T-8 bulbs. I grabbed four of the GE 6500K 32w bulbs to go in it. Definitely a significant improvement but there's still some shadow areas by the door. They have some corner mount single bulb fixtures that I may put on each side of the door at the ceiling but that will come later.
  15. They have some very similar (if not the same) ones at Lowes as well.
  16. I'll just leave this here: http://www.michelintweel.com
  17. Agreed to both. Most of the professional guys check in every few days so give it some time. I'm Navy here and think this I'd an awesome idea. Maybe something for me to look into as a volunteer offering when I get my garage freed up.
  18. You're right but from looking at Lowes site yesterday there was only one hardwired ballast that was rated for 32w bulbs. All the others where plugins.
  19. I wanted to get a four bulb fixed fixture to keep from having to switch the mount over to a plugin but I'm leaning more towards that route. The only fixture I've seen through preliminary searching on Lowes' website that supports 64 watts (32/bulb) has only two bulb spots. The search continues but thanks for the input.
  20. So I'm looking at upgrading the puny light in my garage and wanted to see what kind of suggestions you guys have. If I go with a straight fluorescent light I will be mounting it parallel to my garage door to keep from moving the entire fixture. I've attached a few pics to help. Toss any ideas this way.
  21. It's best applied over sealant or directly on the paint. It's also best applied under the wax. Putting it on top of the wax would most likely land you none to minimal results. I'm not saying you can't put BG on top of your wax but I'd say you probably won't notice much of a difference.
  22. That's for sure....especially when the EcoBoost Mustang hits the market next year (as the rumors have it). Companies are starting to realize that to continue getting people behind the wheel they have to provide a product that still gets the expected 300+ HP while getting a consistent 30+ MPG. Ford is getting there and I'm sure they won't let us down (on the motor end at least). We'll see where it goes...
  23. I'd be in for two. One small and one extra schmedium (or just plain medium if not available).
