The power windows on my Rav 4 were freezing shut here in N. VA. In & Out Spray on the rubber seals removed the moisture and lubricated them. No more frozen shut windows.

Developers were tasked with this a few weeks ago.

The dev staging site has the function active but I don't like the way it's working yet.

We should have it up and running in a few weeks.

    Caliper and Rotor Hat Painting

The brake calipers and rotor hats were starting to rust, so I decided to paint them black, to match the wheels.

I used the Dupli-Color kit, which includes cleaner, paint and the brush with the silver handle.  From reviews of the kit, most found the included brush to be junk, so I picked up some better brushes to use.

In order to prep and paint all four at the same time, I put the truck on jack stands, with some cardboard to keep the floor clean.

The brake caliper cleaner that came with the kit was almost useless, as the solvents dried almost instantly, leaving no time for scrubbing or wiping off the brake dust and grime.  After placing a tub under the area to catch the dirty liquids, I used APC to scrub with a couple small brushes.  To rinse, I used a sprayer bottle of hot water, and then used a sprayer with IPA for the final rinse.

After allowing the areas to dry overnight, I used lacquer masking tape (really sticky) to mask off some areas.

I applied two coats of paint to each area, waiting about 45 minutes between coats.

I was not happy with the amount of brush marks left in the surface.  The paint did not really lay down at all, and I have a lot of experience with coatings.  The paint didn't seem overly thick, like it was expired, but just did not level out.

After letting the paint dry overnight the wheels were installed.  With the wheels on, the brush marks were not too noticeable. However, I would not use a brush-on kit again, I would mask everything and spray the paint.

    Here's a little cart I threw together...

I also found some totes that fit the bottles nicely.

I use a dymo paper label printer (address label size) and cover it with clear tape to waterproof it. I like the labels to be pristine (OCD), so I put these in the blank space of the bottles. I'll add a pic if someone is interested.

    Hey all,
This is my attempt at making a detail cart.

I knew what cart I wanted to use so I bought this:

I picked it up @ the local "big box" store for $60.

I quickly realized that I needed some sort of bottle management. After an exhausting amount of time checking out all of the internet options I found some scrap Styrofoam packing materials @ work and decided that I could save them from the landfill.

This is what the material starts out like:

I bought a Styrofoam hot wire cutter @ the local craft store, because a hole saw makes a TERRIBLE MESS and doesn't give a good result. I paid $20 for it but since the girlfriend can use it on her crafts later, I'm not gonna include it in my tally.  I used it to cut out the holes and make room for the bottles.

I tried a few configurations, and then came up with one I liked and seemed to fit nicely.

1 bottle of Styrofoam craft glue and 1 can of textured spray paint totaled less than $10 and gave me this.

    Partially loaded.

I'm waiting on some hooks to hang the brushes and stuff off of the outside, after that I'll finish loading up the remaining stuff in the garage and put it to work!  All together I have less than $85 in it.  I liked the Adams cart but really wanted a metal one. So we shall see how it holds up.

Moderators, I hope in posting all of this I didn't violate any picture or posting rules, please advise if I need to change something or take this down.

Feedback and criticism is welcome! I call this Phase 1, more of a trial run.  I would like a nicer looking bottle holding system, but I can live with turning something destined for the dump into something useful for the time being.
