  1. Welcome Bob! And yes, living in central Florida myself, you can definitely drive the 'Vette year 'round. Actually, you may want to garage it in the Summer here to keep it out of the rain! P.S. please post pics, I love yellow cars.
  2. Yes, but only if you promise to wash them with rocks and sand. Then Taig can work his magic on them again next Summer.
  3. Frank, Dylan, et al, What concentration of Car Wash would you recommend for spraying? 1 oz. per 2 gallons? more? less? Thanks, Mike.
  4. Great work, as usual Taig! Does the carbon fiber require any different care/technique? I saw a Lancer this morning with a c/f trunk lid (not sure why they still had a steel hood with a c/f trunk, but oh well) and it brought the question to mind.
  5. That is a beautiful truck! Paint work looks great, love the colors.
  6. I tried this last weekend when I was correcting a nasty scratch on the hood of a neighbors Outback. I seasoned the pad, started with the top 1/3 of the pad making contact, then began to work the area. Holy crap, the scratch was gone! I did the remainder of the hood, since it was going faster than it had in the past. Can't wait to start working the scratches on my truck this weekend!
  7. Is that your El Camino from the PC videos? BTW, nice reflection in pic 3 - sytlin' in the Adam's hat!
  8. Great work! Man, your weather is tough on the finish. BTW, thanks for the tip on cutting up the Tire Sponge http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1916&highlight=tire+sponge. I had the chance to detail an Outback Sport over the weekend, a very neat car, but had never done a car with the low profile tires. Thanks to your tip I now have 4 new sponges! One Tire Sponge cut in half for the tires, a quarter of the Tire Sponge, and the other quarter cut at the 'grip line' for 2 small space sponges.
  9. Thanks for the suggestion Ty. BTW, it was nice meet you yesterday at the Lakeland YMCA show. The cover would be a excellent way to go, except I'm pressed for time on this, it goes on the truck on Monday morning! Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Since I was in a time crunch I decided to forgo the tape, due to the setup time of the wax. I washed it last night with ONR in her garage, then clayed the front-end & hood, removed some scratches from the hood with SHR & FMP, and put on one coat of MSW. This morning I did the wheels with GWC, put on another coat of MSW, put VRT on the tires & trim, did a quick interior wipe down with the Interior Cleaner, and finally wiped off the 2nd coat. It was a Subaru Outback Sport, very cool little car, and will definitely be more at home in New Hampshire that in Florida! Sorry no pics, I was in a hurry to get started!
  10. I have washed mine with the MF towels, still works fine.
  11. Nice job Jared, and nice car too! I like that canopy - what kind is it?
  12. My neighbor is moving , Florida to New Hampshire, and is having her car transported. I am detailing her car as a going away present, but wanted to get some feedback from the 'forum folks'. I'm not going to have as much time as I would like to work with the car, so after washing, I plan to clay and wax the front & hood. This should provide some protection, but was wondering if blue painters tape should be applied as well? Thanks, Mike
  13. It's not 'big' but this was waiting on me when I got home today and I had to post it. I registered my purchase on the manufacturers website, and they sent me this thank-you: (just the one on the right!) Notice the 'Junkman stripe' on the backing pad!
  14. Rich's hook-up from earlier this week - the Machine twins with SHR included for free, and some VRT thrown in too. Now, FINALLY, the 4" pads are available, so another order will be placed soon (with the Father's Day discount code, of course). Then I'll be set, or at least that's what I'll tell my wife.
  15. The Swirl and Haze Remover should work on that, especially if you have a Porter-Cable. If not, there are several members that achieve amazing results doing this by hand, and hopefully they can provide guidance. If you’re using the PC, be sure to check-out the Junkman’s How-To videos at the top of this section.
  16. Be sure to check out the Junkmans "The Porter-Cable 7424 Operator's Manual"http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2736. Lots of good tips.
  17. I wish I hadn't sold this car, but it was costing me too much money to keep running. It had 327ci/350hp, 4 speed, and NO A/C, not much fun in Florida! I drove in it several parades for my brother’s beauty pageant friends, and it was a great car to take to the beach, especially since you can drive on the beaches here! The big down side was that it overheated very quickly. During the parades I would have to ‘break formation’ and take off for a mile or so to get the temp down. Same problem at the beach, I could get onto the beach, and have to get back on the street at the next ramp. I don’t know which number owner I was (had the car 1982-1983), but I’m sure it was into double digits. I bought the car from a co-worker that ‘always’ wanted a red Corvette, but was buying a red ’63, so she sold me the ’68. Someone had ‘glassed over headlights, then someone else had undone that. The first picture is what I had, the second is what it should have looked like if it the color hadn’t been changed. Neither are my pics, just examples.
  18. Excellent work! So Todd what do we call you now? Junkboy, Junk Jr., little Junk, Junk II?
  19. I use it full strength on dirty wheels, but once I have cleaned them, 50/50 with distilled water works for maintaining them.
  20. Do you have a garage? If so the no-rinse process will work!
  21. If you're letting them 'air dry' the Grit Guard makes a great drying rack!
