Chonke got a reaction from ZMAN024 in Rinseless Wipe Method
Im probably out of the ordinary here, but i change it up depending on how dirty the car is.
If there is any visible dirt, I give it a pass in one direction only. On glass or panels that arent that dirty, i go back and forth.
For example last night, my car was a bit dirty from a previous rain, but I didnt want to wash it because it said it might rain again in the morning, so I just did a rinseless. The top of the car was really dirty and you could see where the dusty water drops formed. Right there I went in one direction. On the side panels and the doors, i went back and forth because it wasnt as dirty.

It seems like a lot, but before you know it, youre going to end up owning all that. But yeah, 40 mystery boxes sounds more fun lol

Ive seen some telescoping poles that shoot some soap into the car while washing. Ive never used them but maybe you can fill the reservoir with H2O instead of soap.

Chonke got a reaction from Jheeman in NEW to Exterior Car Maitnenace
Very nice color mustang! As mentioned, even new cars can come with a lot of imperfections right of the factory.
Heres what I would do:
1)Wash the car with strip wash. Regular shampoo will also do since it shouldnt really have any wax or coatings from the factory unless it was an option. Dont forget the wheels and wheel wells too.
2) clay the car. You can do this while you wash the car so you save yourself from using a lot of detail spray. Just use the soap water to lube the area youre going to clay and go piece by piece.
3)Look at the paint closely and see if it has any swirl marks. Maybe finishing polish would do the trick to clear them up and give it a perfect look. If its not that bad, you can probably use revive hand polish too. Its a great option if you dont have a machine polisher.
4) once the surface is pretty much perfect and free of any swirls, add paint sealant. You can also do this by hand if need be. This will give you the best protection especially for a daily driver. Actually a ceramic coating would be best, but thats another story.
5) once its sealed and protected, you can add a glaze to give it extra shine, or you can jump straight to the wax for more shine and protection. Both buttery wax and americana wax are great choices. Americana is more expensive and it lasts longer, but buttery is easier to apply IMO. A lot of people will recommend going straight to americana, but I dont regret starting out with buttery wax. Smells good too
6) lastly, apply invisible undercarriage spray, and tire shine, and VRT on all the plastic/rubber trim, and clean the windows.
As for maintenance, a quality microfiber towel and detail spray will help you go a long way to keeping the car looking clean without having to wash it as often.

Yes! Extension poles are a must have for anyone with trucks and SUVs. Unfortunately, I use a different microfiber wash attachment instead of adams brush. I wish adams would make a sponge or wash pad attachment and maybe a drying attachment instead of a brush.

Chonke reacted to tmevilsizor in 2016 Range Rover Evoque Interior Detailing
I work for a company who produces door panels and such. The faux leather you are referring to is actually coated urethane. It's everywhere in almost all vehicles. Most car manufacturers that have leather material only use it for the center portion of the seats. The rest of the interior is coated urethane. So the moral of my story, it's safe to use ANY of the Adam's interior products on EITHER material. Most people have a difficult time picking out the genuine leather vs the coated urethane. You're safe to use Adam's on both materials. As always, try a test spot somewhere inconspicuous. Good luck. Enjoy that new ride!

Chonke got a reaction from ledger64 in Temp VS Products
As mentioned, there should be no problem. Matter of fact I think freezing temps do more damage, but you can worry about that in the winter lol
But just as reference, here where it can get up to over 120 degrees, I keep my americana paste wax indoors, and also heavy correcting compound. The paste wax was by recommendation, and the compound had separated into liquid and solid, but once i brought it inside, it went back to normal.
All my other products have been fine so far in the garage.

Chonke got a reaction from Checo in 2016 Range Rover Evoque Interior Detailing
Welcome!
Pretty much all of the interior products will work with faux leather as well as real leather, vinyl, and protected leather. For light cleaning and maintenance, interior detailer works great. If it gets really dirty or you can see soiled areas, use interior cleaner. I use the cleaner with a horse brush and it works great. Then wipe away with a small towel.
Dont forget to condition your leathers and even faux leather when they start drying out.
