  1. So I have been thinking about getting into polishing lately. Have been reading up on all the different polishers Adams offers. Only have a daily driver that I am looking to get a few scratches and swirls out. Not looking for showroom perfection. Just looking to get 90%. Was sold on the PC for its ease of use, price point and being forgiving to beginners. Was getting ready to pull the trigger on the Black Friday sales Adams would offer. Randomly, while searching Craigslist for other things not car related, I decided to search for polishers. Found a PC7424XP in the next town over from where I worked. Emailed back and forth a few times. Met up with him this am to look at it. It's used but in good shape. Seller had it listed for $70. Got to talking with him and ends up he is friends with one of the guys I work with. He then said to me "How's $40 sound?" So I snagged it up! Now I am just going to pick up the pad a polish kit and I will be all set. Early Christmas present to myself.
  2. Welcome. Glad to see more CT members. Don't be afraid to reach out to the forum for questions, advice, or just plain gloating of your accomplishments!
  3. I have been watching this thread from the start. I don't know.. it's a great product and I love it. I use the same 2 border less gray towels for my application. Original towels for a little over a year. I am halfway through my second 16 oz bottle. When I am done I spray them pretty heavily with APC and let them soak while I finish up the detail (windows, trim, tires). Then, light spray of APC again, and rub them together to agitate them. Then run them under warm water and throughly rinsing them. Ring rinse repeat until I feel that they have been rinsed and got all the product out. Takes me maybe 5-7 minutes for both towels. Still going strong and soaking up water. I wouldn't give up on it if you like how the product works for your vehicle.
  4. Welcome back to the detailing world. And most of all welcome to the Adams family. Your plan sounds good. Strip wash, clay and seal them. For added protection, especially being in the wonderful northeast, I would add H2O guard and gloss for added protection, shine and gloss.
  5. Well I am dead in the middle of Connecticut. Anybody near me?
  6. Definitely a good idea. I am looking for a shop near me for some paint correction using Adams products.
  7. Ahh yes. Waterbury. 20 minutes away. Your are super close to the Corvette Store and More. I have been 2 times. Nice guy. He does have Adams stuff. Sells for the same price as the website. He has majority of the products. Might not be the "newest" release of some products but it's obviously still good. I have not asked him any questions about the products because I have already did the research of what I wanted thought the Adams website or these forums.
  8. Welcome. Where about in CT. I am in Meriden.
  9. Chris, Can you upload my profile pic please? Thanks in advance.
  10. It's Physics...... Mind blown!!
  11. Yup. What he said. He beat me to it...and honestly he has a lot more experience than me. So I personally listen to what he says. I have learned a few things about detailing from him. For me.. I have a very dark blue daily driver truck that is parked outside 100% of the time. And fellow Northeaster. I use the PS as a base. And HGG as a topper. I use VRT on exterior plastic trim and my tonnoue cover. Glass sealant. Tire shine for tires. I like to have the extra protection the sealant gives. HGG helps with protection as well but also protects the PS. So at least in my mind the PS will have the best "survivability" of its lifespan (Aprox 6 months). No complaints from me on this regimen.
  12. The daily driver kit is what I initially bought. Excellent choice there ball your basic tools cleaners etc needed for a daily driver. The addition of a second bucket and hurled is nice for the 2 bucket wash. Only addition I made to the daily driver kit is the liquid paint sealer and the glass sealer. These 3 kits do wonders for daily drivers.
  13. That's what I do every couple of washes. Works like a champ!
  14. We used Graco Key Fit for when he was smaller. Now using a Ricaro.
  15. I got mine at the local Lowes. They were being advertised as snow blower gloves.
  16. I could have been episode 7 or 9. I wasn't fully paying attention. One of the ladies was washing a black big rig on the side of the street. Had a mobile cart in the grass between sidewalk and street and had a couple bottles of what I thought was Adams products.
  17. Hahaha. I have the same ones. They work awesome for cold weather washing. Used them several times myself. Can't tell you how many people gave me looks while washing at the local pay and spray. Brought my bucket full of suds and hot water. Keeps the hot water from burning my hands and the cold water from the sprayer from freezing my fingers. Use them while applying HGG also.
  18. It was season 2 episode 8 maybe. The clip of washing was probably less than 5 seconds long super quick.
  19. Wife, son and I are spending today and tomorrow at Great Wolf Lodge in MA. Place is awesome. We love it so far.
  20. Lol. Our house fund is locked down tight with they guy who runs it. Wouldn't surprise if he does it too. But here is what I say.... I don't care. If it's not costing us anymore, and it's a perk for you. Than go for it. It's a perk for the trouble of running the fund if you ask me.
  21. Hahaha. We do have it on demand. A couple of the guys binge watch it while at work. That's where I catch episodes here and there.
  22. I have only watched a few episodes here and there. It's a ridiculously funny and usually pretty raunchy dirty etc. definitely not for kids. It's a showtime exclusive show. And yes I do get to watch it at work. But if you look at the time stamp it's late at night usually 11pm or later. And thank you for the backup of seeing the Adams polishes. Glad I wasn't seeing things.
