    What Dan said!  ^^^^

For steps 2 & 3, try the baggie test when the car is clean - feel the surface of the paint (the front of the hood is a good place to start) with your fingers.  Then get a thin plastic bag (a sandwich bag, etc.) and put you hand inside it and feel the same section of paint.  If it is smooth, then you do not need to clay, but it will probably feel very rough and will need claying.  Adam's sells a LOT of clay at car shows using this method!

Hey Randy, welcome to the forum!

My go-to recommendation for daily drivers:

    1. Wash wheels and tires first, then Two Bucket Wash
    2. Rinse and proper drying method, or use the rinse water plus Detail Spray as a lubricant to clay the vehicle.
    3. Even brand new vehicles can need a clay bar treatment - rail dust from riding in a train across the country, sitting on a dealer lot, etc.
    4. Treat all exterior rubber and textured black plastic with Super VRT.
    5. If swirl marks or scratches are present, machine polish.
    6. Liquid Paint Sealant on all body panels, avoid applying to rubber and textured plastic (bumper inserts, wiper cowl) to avoid staining - approx. 6 months of protection with one application.
    7. Allow LPS to cure 1 hour after buffing off before adding any products on top.
    8. Brilliant Glaze (optional)
    9. Buttery Wax, Americana, or Patriot (optional)
    10. Maintenance with H2O Guard & Gloss every 4-5 washes.
    11. Tire Shine or Super VRT on tires.
    12. Undercarriage Spray on plastic fender liners.

    Hey guys!

Been a fan of Adams products for several months now and just recently found out about the forums so thought I'd sign up for some better insight and my love for these products! I drive a 2015 Chevy Camaro SS and only ever used Adams products. By far my favorites are detail spray, deep wheel cleaner and, total interior detailer along with the great white microfiber towels those are amazing. Next I'm on the hunt for some stuff for my vinyl stripes mostly to fix some scuffs/scratches/swirl marks so if you guys got any info hit me up!

Anyway, it's great to be here and I'm excited to be apart of the Adams family and hopefully meet some cool new people

    LITERALLY

Clay alternative threads come up once a week - Just search before making a new thread - People get very heated about clay vs. clay alternative.

The cliff notes is:  The clay alternatives on a PC or Cyclo work, but you really only need them on paints that are HAMMERED and you will be polishing afterward, as they can leave a bit of micro-marring if they are the medium grade, but most of the time any marring left will be removed with a pass of Correcting polish, and mostly is due to user error because the clay alternatives use a ton more lubricant in order to use them properly than a traditional clay bar.

If you are looking for a clay alternative and want to use it, stick with the fine grade.  The sponge is least aggressive, followed by the mitt, towel, and finally the pad that you use on a PC or Cyclo.

Was really impressed with the product. This is my 02 cadillac that had a very deep scratch in both doors. Was from someone dragging a bag down it. Was not sure it would come out but it did after some elbow grease lol.

Steve_S reacted to Dan@Adams in Wishlist Update Is Now Live!
You may have read in the other thread where Matt said our website developers were working on bringing back the Wishlist functionality to our website.

Well, we're happy to announce that we pushed the update live to the website yesterday evening!

Now you can choose the "ADD TO WISHLIST" button directly under the "ADD TO CART" button on each product page, shown with the red arrows in the picture below:

If you are logged into your profile, it will add the item into your wishlist; otherwise it will redirect you to login first and then add it to your wishlist once you have logged in. Then it will redirect you to your "MY WISHLIST" screen and display all of the items on your list, with any sale prices displayed as well.

There is also an option to email your wishlist to someone, a subtle hint or gift idea, with the "SHARE WISHLIST" button and an "ADD ALL TO CART" button which does just what it says

You can then access your wishlist any time you are logged into the site by going to your profile first, and then selecting the "My Wishlist" link under "MY ACCOUNT". This update is now available for desktop and mobile devices!

Please let us know if you have any questions, issues, or feedback on this new update, thanks!

    Hello Everyone,

My name is Elvin and I am from Maryland.  I received Adam's sample box as a Christmas gift last year and loved the products included in the box! Since then I have spent around $250 already (in less than a month!) trying other Adam's offerings.  I can't seem to stop buying, the products are that good!

Last but not least, I wanted to share my experience with the customer service team, I have been on the phone with Dan and Kourtney and they have been amazing!  They even honoured a sale that I missed!

Thank you for great products and great customer service!

PS: I really enjoy your videos.  Please keep on making them!

Is the rail dust gone? With a white car spotting rail dust is easy. I'm assuming they used a sealer and not a coating. What I would do is:

    1. Wash your Yukon
    2. Go over the Yukon again with Adam's Clay Bar (This will help remove some of whatever they put on as a sealer).
    3. Do a 2 x 2 test area to see what would work best to remove the scratches. Paint Correcting Polish first then the Finishing Polish.
    4. After polishing the whole Yukon you could use waterless/rinseless  wash as a wipe down or wash the car again to remove any polish residue.
    5. Seal using the Liquid Paint Sealant.

The key to preventing further scratches is a SOLID wash/dry technique and high quality microfibers. The cyclo is a pretty easy tool to use. Ask more questions if needed.

You should strip wash before starting. Just a few ounces of APC in your wash bucket will do the trick.

In a test area, 2'x2', you should use the least aggressive method first and see if that does what you want. If not step up to the next aggressive step and go over your test section again until you get it where you want.

FYI, least to most aggressive would be.

    Revive
White foam pad and white PFP
    Orange foam and PCP
    Orange microfiber pad and PCP

And as always, go check out the videos, they really are a great tool and go into good detail on the steps and process.

Least aggressive method first. If you have Paint Finishing Polish, try that first. Chances are if its fine scratches it will come out with that. Do a test area to find out, wipe it down with 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and then Polish with Paint Finishing Polish. If after a few passing attempts it doesn't look better step it up.

As far as the flashlight, I know there are some expensive ones out there but I use a $30 LED light and it does just fine seeing swirls. I've never used (and probably never will) one of those expensive ones but I've always had success with my paint.

I hate to see the distinction between the Soap Bucket and Rinse Bucket go away but is does seem much more logical to only offer one bucket because, as you said, it will help out the shipping team.

What if instead of offering multiple buckets, Adam's goes with the 8" Round Logo bucket but, much like selling the 8" sticker, make stickers that read "Soap Bucket" and "Rinse Bucket" in the Adam's font that could be purchased by those of us who would like the distinction.  And they could be included in the 2 Bucket kit offerings on the website.

    Just my 2 cents!
