I see your point. I guess I had a different takeaway when I watched the video. I’ll go back and watch it again. I agree that the diluted rinses made into a waterless like solution would not make sense to be included for obvious reasons.

Travel abroad

Winterized the husband’s Impala today. It’s getting some PPF soon, so a few areas got polished. The rest will wait till spring. I also tried to minimize some pretty bad marks and scratches from something that scraped the rear quarter panel. (Assuming another car kissed it pulling out of a parking spot.) It looks better, but I’m going to have to figure something else out. They are still pretty prevelant. This poor car has gotten its share of abuse at the hands of some crappy people. Someone rammed a shopping cart into the other side and there is a dent we have to have pulled out.

I think there might be something to that @rseward. My first vehicle was a manual too. Mostly because it was a dirt cheap lease. But I’m so glad it was....I might have never become as appreciative of automobiles as I am. My dad expected me change my own oil too. Can’t say I ever did it without his help, though, otherwise I would have never gotten the oil filter off. Still, it was a good experience.

Bumping this thread. @shane@detailedreflections you mentioned something in another thread (I’ve quoted it below) about the new Coatings coming out at SEMA that are marketed towards PPF. What are your thoughts? I’ve only begun to read up on these new trendy ideas, but am not quite getting to the Why. Why apply these instead of the already existing Coatings? Is it marketing/ hype or is there truely a need for a separate coating for PPFs?
