  1. Is it possible for tree sap to be on the car for so long that it gets baked in to the paint?

Son bought an '87 Jaguar XJ6 a couple months ago. Car lived its entire life in San Antinio, TX. He brought it over this weekend for a good cleaning. After taking the clay bar to what we figured is tree sap, it got smoother, but not gone. (I forgot to take pictures). Otherwise paint is in great shape and looks to be original to the car.

Here are a few pics of our TA. We have been updating it for the last year, had a 350 olds motor built for it ( had a 403 olds) new transmission, drive shaft checked and balanced new U joints, rear differantial rebuilt with 3.55:1 gears, B&M heavy duty aluminum cover, new sway bars, ladder bars, shocks, all new weather seals, drop shaker from blockers ( edelbrock performer Aluminum heads milled to get us 11:1 compression edelbrock performer rpm intake with edelbrock Thunder series 800cfm carb with electric choke) few little goodies in the motor just to give it a some pep, 3000 rpm stall.

Working on fabricating up some parts for under the hood to wrap things up.

Looks and sounds like a gorgeous car!!!

  3. Chris, lights look amazing!!

I can see your idea working, but my question is; How many people out really care about yellowed lights?

Where I live/work, I see plenty of cars with lights so bad it amazing they can see. The sad part is that many keep the car clean but don't pay attention the the lights.

Maybe making a small poster or something showing the difference between clean and dirty lights can help. Once you get started, word of mouth would be a big help also.
