Nathan reacted to shane@detailedreflections in Adam’s One Step
We use a different one step polish than both listed here. The one step has its place. And for us it’s keeping service affordable for most. That being said, we always put a spray topper over it for better durability.
My advice is to try a couple of products and see what you like. We sample products often to form our own opinions.

I was looking in to this just a few weeks ago. Looking forward to hearing your review of the tests and the knowledge they may offer

All told it was a $310 investment. Annual dues are $110 and prepaying all the tests at once was $200.

Welcome to the addiction Phil.
You have a pretty good order to start off.
I would recommend that you add a follow up wash between the clay and polish steps, as well as a prep step with IPA or Coating Prep before you apply the sealant so you get a good bond with the paint.
Be sure to post on the new members thread for a proper welcome from the group.

Your plan is solid. This is a GREAT place to start.
As you gain more experience you may try adding/subtracting/reordering steps but there's plenty of time for that later. This is a great approach and you'll be very happy with the results as long as you take your time. Don't rush! No extra points for speed.....

Nathan reacted to Coderedpl in Stupid snow, stop dirtying my car!!!
I was just sitting around and thinking about how dirty my car just from sitting in the driveway. The car was washed and dried, no landscaping was done around the property or anything, so you get just the regular street dust or whatever. Snow falls, then melts. I look at my car and its FILTHY, to the point where I wouldn't even want to do a rinseless or waterless.
Anybody deal with the same?

You guys should see Minnesota! If you have a red truck, it will be white! On warmer days we still can’t use the hose around here so I found this awesome machine that sprays enough water to get rid of the salt but not make a mess. It’s called the Worx Hydroshot. It’s like a battery operated pressure washer wand, it has a hose that you put into a bucket to draw water. I was able to wash (including foam) a full size pickup with one battery and 2, 5 gallon buckets of hot water! Best truck in town, until it snows again...

Curious how it would differ from their trim coating. Unless it’s similar to another companies tire and trim product? Guess we wait and see.

Nathan reacted to Dan@Adams in waterless wash on headlights
Yep, what Nathan said! Especially during the Spring and summer months when bugs seem to be at their peak, I will carry a bottle of Waterless Wash in my car with a few Waffle Weave Towels and wipe down the front whenever possible after a drive, so that bug guts aren't sitting on the clear coat and possibly baking in with the hot sun.
I will also do a pre-soak with either Waterless Wash or a spray-mix of Rinseless Wash to soak down the front for about 2 or 3 minutes prior to doing a Two Bucket Wash with my foam gun or foam cannon. Blasting the bugs with just the stream from the hose or pressure washer after they have been soaking does seem to remove them from the surface more easily for me, and the less I'm scrubbing with a wash pad, the less chance there is of introducing fine swirl marks.

+3 on APC. I blast some on the pads, then massage the dirt out as much as I can then water them down and wring the pads out. Repeat if necessary.

Nathan got a reaction from ocdrifter in Whats your favorite Adams tool to use on your ride?
I second the foam cannon!
But my favorite tool would have to be the merino mitt! It feels like a cat!

Yes, do everything to your headlights that you do to your paint. Polish, seal, wax your headlights!
I would recommend letting the bugs presoak by spraying WW on them and letting it sit for a few minutes, the bugs will come off way easier!

Nathan got a reaction from ocdrifter in Wash Mit Care
To add:
The standerd wash pad Adam’s sells is best for that, it is the most aggressive (not harmful to paint but the best for cleaning)
The red wash mitt Adams sells does a good job of removing dirt and stuff and is also very soft.
The merino mitt is the softest and safest wash possible. It doesn't remove heavy grit well, it is really meant for Hellcats, Ferrari's, and Porsche's. Cars that you really care about and want zero swirls on.
