I like my Toros (have two now) and happy. I had been a long time Sears buyer but the ones I had purchased had issues with deck's rusting. blades dulling quickly, and engines using more oil. I just think Sears cut corners on cost (lower grade steel, etc) so prefer the better engineering and build quality on the Toros.

Understand. A good electric is not cheap. You what you pay for and in terms of pure pressure/GPM's gas do offer that. The real problem is that electrics max out at 15/20A so there is a ceiling on performance.

I have a gas pressure washer. It is noisy and disliked dealing with gas/oil. I got an electric one and liked the convenience. It was quieter -- the pump comes on when you you pull the trigger. For cleaning paint, the psi is more than enough and the foam is good enough me. It is also more compact and stores easily. The biggest negative is that you obviously need electricity so an outlet needs to be nearby.

I thought the official dilution was 0.5 oz per gallon. I do not see it mentioned on Adam's product description. I use soaps around 1:10 in a foam cannon.

For polishing, I like this since it is easy for me to polish slighly higher rather than trying to reach the bottom from a seated position on a mechanic's chair.

The one feature I like is a hose winder to help feed the hose evenly on the reel but it looks solid.

The price of the Rupes will limit its appeal just as not every gets a Flex over the PC. The Flex went through something similar. As many with new products, there are always new adopters and over time we will learn more about the pro's and con's.

Nikon's D600 has sure made a lot of people switch from DX to FX and now there are a lot of DX lenses on the market. BTW, these lenses work on the D600 in crop mode (12MP) or just use in FX and crop manually. My 18 to 105 looks very wide angle now on my D600.

I usually apply a trim dressing to a foam applicator and then apply to the wells. This works fine on plastic lined wells. You can do the same with undercarriage spray.

Yes, the manual clearly states it must be operated on its back if for anything since it is heavy (over 60 lbs). The feature that the line cord wraps around doubles as the base when on its back.

I like it a lot. I use it for more non-detailing work than I do detailing. I have a gas pressure washer (3gpm,2200psi) tii but I did not like the noise (always on even when no spraying) and dealing with gas machines (oil, gas, seasonal prep). The ergonomics were weak (just a pump on a stand). I gave up portability (use anywhere, no need for electricity). For cleaning a car, the 2000 psi is more than enough. It can do damage even with the spray wand if you got it too close to the paint. I had used (borrowed) a karcher K2 and it developed a leak (some plastic fitting cracked) so I was choosing between the high end Kranzle vs the Karcher. I also like having the hose reel integrated (adds a lot of weight) and the cord. It is pricey but an investment.

I got the Kranzle because I wanted to get a quality unit that was designed to last. From all the reviews, if I ended up purchasing to Karchers, I could have got a Kranzle (my rationalization). It is designed to last and if you have a problem it can be repaired. You get a lot more with the added cost but just depends if you want to buy the best: Adjustable pressure, real pressure guage, heavy duty cord, robust connections (brass), GFCI cord. It weights a lot more since due to the castings and brass.

I would share your pricing model which usually equates to some charge per hour. You said it as a $400 detail discounted to $300. If you put in 8 hrs then you are looking at $35 per hour. What you charge per hour is based upon your skill and reputation. You then can compare that to what his company charges per hour. However, many people do not want to pay any more than they have to pay even when they are in a service business. They always want the special deal but do not want to extend it for their own business.

Where did you get the extension hose?

1. Usually based upon how dirty it is. I wash more during spring / fall than summer. 2. 1.5 hrs - actual paint wash is fairly quick but it is drying (even with MB), cleaning jambs, and tires that can really add time. 3. Usually 3 gallons wash (0.5 oz Adams to gallon water). Usually left with 1 gallon left (barely cover the grit guard).
