  1. and i'm waiting again. first the shop couldn't go get the body because he waited to get the frame and wheels sent out for powder and some wheel work (had to narrow the fronts). and he decided to lift his own truck in the same timeframe (of course that got done). so now we are waiting on the frame and wheels to get done while the body is just hanging out. so essentially nothing is being done. again.
  2. rode 21 miles on my trek madone and played 18 holes of golf. glorious day.
  3. yeah i use an edwin jagger de (derby blades) and boars hair brush with mitchell's wool fat shaving soap. top that of with Captains choice bay rum aftershave. West Coast Shaving . com is another good source.
  4. so the body is pretty much done now - on to the doors and such.
  5. true. what a pain in the ***. 32 ft wellcraft scarab with a blown 502. the next person has never been on an airplane.
  6. More work. Spraying the black now....
  7. i didnt enjoy watching mine drive away when i sold it. was even harder when i found out the guy dropped a motorcycle on the side of it, then wrecked it being a dumbass, and has basically not taken care of it.
  8. body in final stages for paint..... color has been sprayed!!!
  9. truecar was easy - register and follow the steps on the website - find a car at a participating dealer nearby and no questions asked. the dealer didnt even argue with me about the discount. as far as the hybrid tech goes - we really like it so far. the only thing that i might have a little distaste for the is the cvt transmission.
  10. she seems to love it so far - doesnt miss the gl550 at all. goes in for tint and clear bra tomorrow.
  11. well, lets be honest - it still needed the adams treatment - after a full bath, and decked out all the way with Patriot wax.......
  12. don't really feel right posting this in the truck forum - as its not even built on a truck chassis - and considering how it rides, how low to the ground, etc. got rid of her old 2008 Benz GL550 - was out of warranty, cost us a small fortune every time for service, Mercedes Benz of Tucson was an absolute nightmare to deal with - their service department, mainly the technicians, are the worst I've ever had to deal with - they never fixed anything the first time. it usually took a 3rd or 4th time. anyhow - got her a 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid, in LIquid Platinum/Black leather. All the bells and whistles, 20s, tvs for the kids, and all the technology packages. Used the true car dot com service (free) and saved $4500 on the price of the new car. So far we are very pleased. can run 87 octane in it, versus 91 in the benz. and with it in eco mode, my wife has been getting 20 mpg around town, versus 12 for the gl. also - our insurance went down $500 every six months. on with the pics
  13. yep. frame issue solved. but absolutely nothing has been done to turn the frame into a rolling chassis.
  14. So bypassed the shop and contacted the painter directly. Seemed like the logical choice to get paint samples and make the final decision on the color. Got three colors sprayed in a weeks time and got the samples in the mail today: The silver on the left: Volkswagen Reflex Silver - the original color The silver in the middle: A Nissan Silver - which Fesler had a Nova sprayed The silver on the right: a GM Silver I chose the silver on the right - paint code WA636R - gonna keep the color in the family!
  15. love it when i call the guy that owns the shop to ask whats going on with my project, and he says hes away from the shop and will get back to me a week later. awesome.
  16. false the next person is unemployed
  17. car was put on a trailer to get to the painters. 97.8 miles door to door. supposedly now both fesler's trailer and the painters trailer are either borrowed or broken. convenient. this is brutal.
  18. so - still such a effed up project - along with an effed up company to deal with. they wont even spend $50 and 6 hrs time to go pick up the frame from the painters. so instead of the frame getting powdercoated, the wheels getting new hoops, motor and trans going in, all the lines for the brakes, fuel etc being run, the frame is just sitting. no work being done to progress the build forward. the shop in phoenix is absolutely no help - they told me to go get the frame myself. awesome. supposedly more work has been done and they are gonna spray some samples for me to see by the end of the week. so, at the rate things are going, i'll probably see those color samples some time in October.
  19. Think we are close to paint. Body came off the frame shortly after these pics were taken Autoguide app sucks
  20. false. the next person hasn't washed their vehicle in over 2 months.
