they finally touched my car again. inside scoop let me know that about two weeks ago when he was at the shop he talked to a couple employees who said they had plenty to do on my chevelle, but they were made to work on side jobs and the owners truck. not my car. intentionally. so f'ed up.

i'll keep my 2013 raptor....

i friend of mine had a 58 apache pickup that was done by them - and he had a worse go of it. his truck actually got in a wreck while being towed (not the painter/shops fault) and almost had to start all over. their finished products are amazing, but evidently this is what you have to go through. If i would have gone to the Roadster Shop or Ring Brothers though the price tag probably would have tripled. at this point i am screwed. plain and simple. they have me by the short and curlys. only plus is that they might have someone to buy the car for what i want and take over the project.

im guessing that best case scenario is that i get the car back in 6 months. but if i was a betting man, i'd put my money on another year. since i traded the big block for the paint work directly with the painter, the shop that has the car (though they brokered the deal) won't go to the painters shop (2 hrs away) to get the remaining parts so that they can finish the build. the painter is out of town on a family vacation, which i have no problem with, so he cannot deliver the parts, although everything is done. the shop (not the painter) said that since they didn't get paid out of the deal, they won't do any of the work. so, nothing is being done. no lines have been run, nothing has been wired, seats haven't been sent out to get recovered, rear panels haven't been made, or the rear deck, suspension hasn't been finished....... whole build is fubar'd because of the lack of dedication to getting my car done.

its on when its done. only problem is that if something goes wrong and i've already burnt bridges.

the closest i think i may ever come is waxing my computer screen. builder is dragging their feet again and making all kinds of excuses.

so a little update - after two months, the wife loves this suv. we've driven up to show low from tucson, she's romped on it around town, and we are getting 22 mpg on 87 octane. trip to show low was about 200 miles each way and 4000 ft of elevation change (was a nice coast on the way home) knock on wood, no issues to speak of. its performed flawlessly.

20 miles of trail riding on my mtb, swam with the kiddos and topped it off with milkshakes from In n' Out.

i have a feeling that the interior is going to be the next big hold up. he wants to mold door panels to market, so we will see what happens.
