plastidipped the tailgate FORD emblem today: after looking at that pic of the plastidipped emblem, i thought that it looked kinda cheap so i busted out the exacto knife and some patience: looks a lot better to me - even if its still chrome.

yes - its been so neglected over the 650 mile life of the truck. the jlt catch can has to be manually dumped. no big deal.

the flares werent even black - they were a matte finish dark shadow gray. the bumpers are next to go. getting some from a place in phoenix called addictive desert designs. should have those on next friday.

installed a few more things today: Corsa exhaust - love it. really like that i can drive around with no drone whatsoever, but its more pronounced than stock esp. at wot DeeZee tailgate assist - no more dropping the tailgate and having it slam down: JLT oil seperator: keep some of the oil out of the intake track. ran one similar to this on my 2002 harley f150 and it kept a ton of oil from reaching the blower. also done - but didnt take pics - drop-in k&n and factory bed extender.

geez - thought this was going to be a thread about bedazzling your ride. good to see it isn't. i wouldn't bother unless you're trying to win the Ridler award.

fun project. i had a 97 s10 ZR2 and i loved that truck. took everything i threw at it and more. still miss how fun it was to throw that thing down a trail.

also - just added the Bakflip F1 cover to the truck. was told by many not to run a rolling retractable cover on these trucks if you are going to use them as intended. evidently the bed flexes enough to cause the rollers to come out of the rails. plus, i can have this cover off in 5 minutes.

i have - just need to go by there and get it done. did it on my jeep.

im in the same boat as you - major letdown as i scrolled down through the pics.

part of it is the angle of the pic. ive decided to spend money elsewhere on the truck, so wheels/tires will have to wait. plus, the wheels i have are forged beadlock capable wheels. as far as tires go, the ones i have are almost 35s. the suspension moves quite a bit, so if i were to up it to 37s id have to trim a lot out of the front fender well. you know what - i dont use the super vrt on the black vinyl, even on my jeep. just a mist of the quick sealant and a wipe down and they look awesome.

thanks all! depends on what the run is - rock crawling and tight trails? the jeep. open trail with mostly dirt road and some technical stuff the raptor. wont be getting rid of the jeep anytime soon. its too much fun. the mod list is already lengthy. i was going to do wheels/tires - but for the money theres other things id like to do instead. plus, i havent seen a wheel thats reasonably priced that makes me go WOW! but i do have a short list of things that have already been ordered. - factory ford bed extender - bakflip f1 bed cover w/bak box - tailgate dust seal - k&n drop in filter - corsa exhaust - front and rear bumpers from addictive desert designs - rigid industries 20" combo e-series for the front bumper, diffused duallys for the back - stubby antenna - painted factory flares - window tint think thats it.

threw the rigid dually d2s from my f250 on it... homemade brackets using bumpstop spacers from an old suspension setup on my jeep. now i know why i hoard auto parts

not trying to be redundant (well maybe a little) got my new truck all cleaned up - got it late last night.

my new raptor

so it all began with a phone call - then i had to drive to phoenix...traded in my f250 and came home with a 2013 Ford Raptor, 801A package (nav, heated/ac seats, all the bells and whistles), hood and bed graphics, forged beadlock capable wheels, tailgate step.... was an interesting night. but now its all cleaned up.

that would be me..... more details to come.......

do it - then swap in a ls motor. do a search on youtube.

2300 - don't know who's gonna do the tuning at this point. I just want the car done. Taking way too long.
