We're introducing a new video series today, One Take Tuesday, where we discuss detailing tips, all in one take - no camera cuts or multiple angles - just a very honest and transparent way to provide some knowledge!
This week focuses on Compounding and Polishing, and you can watch the video below. Make sure to follow our YouTube channel if you have not already. We hope you like it!

Good call. Chasing perfection is a fool's errand, IMO. You can get close, but preserving the paint and living to fight another day are more important goals.

Honestly, the dealerships don't even look at the cars much any more. Just traded in my Cadillac, and every dealership I went to just walked around the outside, looked for dents and bad scratches, but not much more. I wouldn't put a whole lot of effort into it. A coat of wax, or Guard and Gloss, and you should be good to go.

So as a belated father's dat gift I detailed my Dad's car. I tried a few things I haven't done before. All in all here is what I did.
Did the rims and tires.
Washed the car with Foam Cannon and Ultra Foam - Still getting used to the pressure washer/foam cannon combo.
Dried the car with a leaf blower and then waterless wash
Clayed the car
Washed again with Foam Cannon and Ultra Foam
Dried the car with a leaf blower and then waterless wash
Applied some polish
Cleaned the windows with glass cleaner then applied glass sealant.
Took the sealant off with glass boost.
Applied Ceramic Boost instead of Detail Spray
I have to say, when I was applying the ceramic boost I was not impressed at first. Couldn't really see much of a difference. I started wiping to hood and roof and that is when I noticed a huge difference. It really brought out the metallic flakes in the paint. I had no troubles applying it. It went on really easy. Can't wait till it rains to see how the water runs off. It was too clean to poor water on it myself
Let me know what you guys think!

I have a 19 Nox. Black. I've been using the Ceramic Paste Wax and hitting it with the Boost as needed. Looks pretty good to me, but then again it's new paint.

shooterjgs reacted to falcaineer in Ceramic Paste Wax over Paint Sealant
I asked Adam's this same question a while back, when it first came out. Most thought it would work fine, but I couldn't really get a consensus. They probably know more now, but in interest of time and my customer's wishes, I ended up just applying only the CPW and he was thrilled. I think the results speak for themselves...

shooterjgs reacted to Yo-Yo Ma's Cousin in Bought New Car...how should i be protecting it?
Totally understand. I like @shooterjgs suggestion of Ceramic Liquid Wax and Ceramic Boost, this is what I have been wanting to do to my wife's vehicle.
Although when I was in your spot - interested in protection for the first time - I started with H20 G&G just by itself and was blown away by it. It's very easy to apply, and it works very well. Just be prepared to apply it Once every 3 - 4 weeks or so.

i have never tried revive, but have a bottle on the way, just because of this video.
i am also going to use it in those spots that a machine can’t get, like Shane mentioned

I agree, the products themselves are awesome, I'd just love to see the 16 oz. bottles back.

For the streaks that I have gotten a few times, I just used a clean MF towel and light mist of detail spray and buffed it off.
Worked for me

thinking that this answer may be more than 2 words...………………….. 😕
"Beam me up, Scotty" is a catchphrase that made its way into popular culture from the science fiction television series Star Trek. It comes from the command Captain Kirk gives his chief engineer, Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, when he needs to be transported back to the Starship Enterprise.
two word phrase...……..
