  1. great results. i get similar results if my car hasn't been driven in the rain, the rain tends to make the break dust adhere better. i am also using a power washer on the wheel so the water is agitating quite a bit as well. its the reason i still haven't been able to break the habit of using DWC every time I wash.
  2. BG does not offer protection, its a filler and gloss enhancer. if you don't want to spend the time go right to americana.
  3. its truly all purpose too. we use around the house in and out for lots of stuff in addition to using it on our cars.
  4. make sure you wash the correct way now too, 2 bucket method, so you maintain the results you just achieved.
  5. i use just the tornador air gun for blowing out the dust from the interior and love it. its an awesome tool for getting dust out quickly from the big surfaces and for getting dust out of all the nooks throughout the interior. i haven't used the black gun with any fluid as I was concerned about misting fluid under pressure into cracks in the interior and potentially causing damage to electronics. again, i haven't used it i was just being paranoid perhaps.
  6. looking very good! enjoy. i loved my 2010 SS. I havent had the pleasure of driving a ZL1 but look forward to doing so one day.
  7. also put VRT or In Out Spray on any plastic parts prior to the trip.
  8. in the winter i try to go to the bays when its not busy with my buckets already filled with hot water and Adams car wash. unless its super cold out i typically prep everything in my garage, pull out into the driveway, wash rinse and finish up back in the garage. my garage has running hot and cold water and i have a nice set of fleece lined wash gloves (hint, hint adam's should offer them) my garage typicallys stays in the 50 degree range so its cool but not too cold, if its colder than that in the garage i sometimes fire up a space heater but with 11 foot ceilings it doesn't do too much unless it runs for a long time. I am always concerned that the soap at the bays will strip the wax / sealant on the car as its seems they dispense very strong / harsh soap at the bays near me. maybe i'm just paranoid.
  9. crap job on the sealant. make them correct it and the paint on the handle. is the car owned or leased? if its owned you should pursue "lost value" due to the accident. selling the car its going to take a hit on value, it now has a bad carfax and a paint meter will let them know where it has been repaired regardless of how good it looks. sorry to say but the vehicle is worth less now, hence the "lost value" where you can claim to be reimbursed for the difference in what the car is worth compared to one that hasn't been in an accident. (if its a lease don't sweat it, unless the lease holder is going to charge you but if the repair is done decent it will be fine under the normal wear and tear clause unless there was frame damage). sorry for the troubles, as others have said continue to fight for what is right, many less than ideal, even the some of the big name, insurance companies often operate under the practice that you will give up and go away so they can maintain their margins. if you are persistent you will come out on top.
  10. you might want to offer a discount. i looked and the prices are retail and for retail i can just buy them at my local store.
  11. wash the car. while the WW may, repeat may, lift the mud you would have to have a TON of WW towels to keep up with that level of dirt. I would wash the car.
  12. foam, let it sit a few minutes and then two bucket wash.
  13. i use the foam cannon and two buckets. i wouldn't recommend removing either bucket. the cannon loosens dirt and drags some away as the foam hits the ground, but there is still plenty of dirt/grime on the car because there is no agitation with the foam canon alone. so i wouldn't eliminate either bucket, they both still have their place. i view the canon as a extra step to provide another layer of protection from creating swirls, not a substitute for either bucket.
  14. thanks dylan. i'll give it a try with DWC. it does such an awesome job that i have used it at every wash on our two DDs. (i used Sonax prior, so its a long standing habit, not saying it was the right one). Hopefully the QC makes cleaning the wheels easier and winds up saving me some money by requiring less frequent use of DWC.
  15. Correct. My brakes build up dust fast and thick, perhaps my driving has something to do with it too. I'll try to not use DWC this weekend and see what the results look like. I'm guessing that DWC greatly reduces the life of QS.
  16. I bought a kit after watching the junkman videos that were posted on the camaro5 forum. I was sold after my first full detail with the kit but the SHR and FMP were what wowed me. Easy to use and stellar results
  17. question - how does quick sealant hold up to deep wheel cleaner?
  18. i use one of these on these hooked up to the compressor on the seats other surfaces except the floors and mats as that just moves the heavy dirt to other places in the car IMO. everyone that has ever tried that attachment at my house has bought one. its an awesome tool and it really gets out all the tiny dust and saves a ton of time. Tornador Blow Out Gun
  19. i tried this for the first time today on my wheels. i am very impressed with the ease of use and the shine it put on the wheels. i drove it bit today too, some hard braking 100-60mph, and the wheels definitely seem to have less brake dust on them. one more adam's product in the detailing arsenal (i don't have any other brands in the arsenal)
  20. i thought i was only one. i also use detail spray as a cologne, i smell so nice
  21. i do. at one point Dylan had stated that it was a cheaper alternative and it provided more protection if you missed a spot during the wash. i still use detail spray after drying as well.
