Welcome...good to see another GTO owner on here...

pads must sit and air dry naturally. I don't recommend the dryer. While the ziploc bag will preserve them while doing a multi day correction its best to have a few of each so that you don't have the long down time while they dry

i have been wanting one for awhile now.....

Out with the old in with the new
ledger64 replied to ledger64's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
thanks everyone. It is such a sweet color. yeah it was time my 04 duramax was starting to rot out on the rockers from the lovely crap they put on our roads and the injectors were probably time to be replaced. Sold that and the wife's 09 g6 gxp (needed a cat 1k and steering rack 1700). Kept the 06 PBM GTO though. Carpooling now with her until I can get a beater/nicer weather for GTO -

Out with the old in with the new
ledger64 posted a question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Been awhile since I have posted. Been super busy with the Family and work. I did sell some vehicles and picked up this last month. Been too cold/busy to do a full correction but i have managed to get a full 2bucket wash and liquid paint sealant coat on. Followed up with some rinse less washes and H20 sessions. Love the lapis blue... and the 3.6r -
very interesting. for what its worth. Costco sells snap-on branded led lights for about $30. I have bought some so far so good. I retro fitted an old halogen stand for one they are nice.

ledger64 replied to Ricky Bobby's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
Bump for Tolco sprayers.... These are so much better than the regular sprayers why not switch over entirely or at least offer to buy them separately??? -
What is the longest time you have gone between washes?
ledger64 replied to chops1sc's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
It really depends on what you consider a "wash". I typically 2 bucket wash my non daily driver once a year in the spring, inspect for any corrections needed and correct. Then maintain with rinseless wash or waterless washes the rest of the year. Daily driver maybe 1 - 3 times in the summer I will do a two bucket but maintain in between with rinseless. In the winter its hit the coin op weekly to get the salt and crud off. Essentially if you are properly correcting, sealing and maintaining you really don't need to 2 bucket wash very often Rinsless washes with an application of HGG have really cut down wash time and made maintenance much easier. -
I have found Less is more. Use products that do muliple tasks. Its great out the gate buying all the latest and greatest stuff but a lot of stuff is overkill.

Adam's Premium Dilution Bottle
ledger64 replied to Schell21's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
When did you write your review? I think they review them for content considering that you wouldn't want profanity, etc on your company's website. Not posting a negative review is not like Adams. Honestly if you have a leaking bottle have you tried to contact Customer Support or an Adams team member. They are all usually very helpful and probably would replace it for you at no cost. Also what are you diluting maybe if its a non-adams product it could have damaged the bottle. -

Skipping step one of the two step polish system?
ledger64 replied to imcrazy's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
unless your dealing with black you can treat the PCP as a one step product providing you use a foam pad. if you us a mf pad you will need to most times than not go over it with the foam again. Paint finishing product is typically need for black vehicles and difficult clears. id wash, clay, and do the one step with PCP and an orange foam pad, then sealant on just the hood. Have him drive around for a week looking at the hood. he will be back to do the rest of the vehicle the next weekend. -

Using gen 5 pads over the course of two days?
ledger64 replied to imcrazy's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
agreed you can also put the bag in the fridge as well to keep them fresh too. i keep my patriot dedicated hex grip in the fridge too on the same shelf with my patriot wax. the best thing you can do is buy yourself a couple extra orange and white pads that way in the future you don't have to worry. -
How to improve the lighting in my home garage?
ledger64 replied to BoCRon's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
General work area lighting: cheap route buy plug-in 4ft 2bulb T8 fixtures at lowes ~20 a piece. put them about 4 to 6 feet apart over each bay in your garage. expensive route 4ft LED fixtures the same distance apart. check grainger For spot lighting check the DIY LED light thread that is kicking around on here or costco has led spot lights snapon ones for like 30 or 35 -
Jay You are such a dick....lol. thats why we need you here for a sanity check every once and awhile. Slapping some sense into some of the users. Really folks there should be no worries about engine bay cleaning ill take option one get me the hose. Option two sounds like a PIA
