Claying and Polishing my Challenger
Osok replied to WYLEEV8's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions

That made me LOL. Ultimately though a display of some pretty immature and irresponible drivers. Although the fact it was being videoed makes me wonder if it was just a staged thing.

Summertime! Vactions, people are outside doing things way more. I think it's normal for this time of year.

My vehicles have never been this dirty, need advice
Osok replied to Wardo's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
That kind of grime usually leads me to a strip wash. I sometimes find just regular straight Adams car shampoo isn't aggressive enough to take some nasty film type dirt off. Of course if you strip wash it means a rewax aftewards though. -

Thanks! So these would fit the 20" tires my wife has on her 2011 Camaro RS? On the page it mentions fitting tires 25" to 30" which confuses me a bit. Aren't tires normally 15-20" unless it's a truck? -
Water Etched Hood Corrections - 2011 Colorado
Osok replied to Kingsford's topic in Detailing Write-Ups
Forgive me for being slow here but can you clarify for me a bit? As I read it you initially did a good wash then polished SHR orange pads and FMP white pads with the PC got to work and still saw etching. You took it to a guy who looked at it but before taking back to the original shop or to this guy you went at it again with the gen3 pads and pc and this time got all the etching out? Am i following along right? If so any idea why your second go around with the pc and pads worked the second time? -

Does anyone know if the race ramps work for long term storage to avoid flatspotting as well? -

Time for new fender liners?

Have you scrubbed them down and stripped them with some APC? You could also see how SVRT does since it's plastic. -

I soooo wish I was going to be around. I keep contemplating the PA outing but say..nah too busy too far etc. But Syracuse..man it doesn't get much more convenient short of being right here in Rochester some day. I'm sure the show will be outstanding! I guess there's always next year -

Just an update..my wife and I took a visit to two of the local ranges. After visiting the second one which is much bigger we opted to sign up for membership there. Now we have a place to shoot whenever we want year round!! We take the NRA basic pistol class this Friday and then they require we take a range safety class/competency test before we're carded to access the ranges (that's happening next Sunday). Can't wait to get these pistols to the range!!

What was your best detail ever?
Osok replied to Team Adam's's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
For me it'd probably be bringing my buddy's old tore up impala back to life so much that when I dropped it off at the airport for his return he said he walked right by it and around it twice because he didn't recognize it. http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/detailers-write-ups/8946.htm -
I don't have L4D2 but look me up anytime you want to play any of the following: Gears3, MW3, GhostRecon:Future Soldier, MTG, Forza3 or 4, TigerWoods12

She was looking at the Shield/Bodyguard/G26 but one of the store guys suggested to look at the LC9 and LCP as well. After seeing them my wife narrowed it down to the LCP and the Bodyguard. She chose the bodyguard because it's got an integrated laser and an additional manual safety which she wanted for peace of mind for her appendix carry. In many states you need a permit approved by the state to be able to own and carry a firearm. In NY you can own rifles (with many restrictions) but you can't own any pistol without the concealed carry permit. NY is a concealed carry state vs an open carry (like Colorado) so if we carry we need to have it on us but completely hidden from sight. I looked at the XDM and the XDS. I really liked the 9mm XDM as well but tough to dispute the joy and simplicity of a Glock which is why i opted for the G19. I'm running Speer Gold Dot personal protection 147gr loads in my G19 when I carry and the wife will be running Hornaday Critical Defense loads in her bodyguard when she carries. Nice purchases there as well! The 17 is the big brother to the 19 so I'm sure that'll be nice. I opted for the 19 because I wanted to conceal carry it. Let me know how the M&P .22 is. I wasn't aware there was an M&P .22. Good to hear there are a handful of folks here with the bodyguard and loving it. My wife will be happy to hear that. One thing that's tough for a new buyer now is that there aren't any stores that have ranges in them anymore or ranges that rent much of any firearms to anyone without a permit. So as a new buyer we're faced with reading a lot of reviews getting feedback and just going with our gut on our purchases. No more "try before you buy" here in NY.

Well..along with the love of American muscle my wife and I now share (see: http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/cars/18857.htm) we also have been waiting quite awhile to start shooting together. She's had her carry permit for years and has been on me for awhile to get mine so we can start shooting together. Not sure why it took me so long but finally applied, got it this past May (which is a record for New York State). Last Saturday we hopped in the car (her car this time) and decided to hit a couple of local gun shops. We had a rough idea what we wanted but as new shooters were open to learning as much as we can. To make a long story short(er) two store visits and 3 hrs of talking later we bought our first handguns! We're both beyond excited and plan to put a LOT of rounds down range through these over the next many many years together. It actually was good timing since yesterday was our 14th wedding anniversary so we opted to call these our gifts to eachother. Here's our new babies...Glock 19 for me, a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 for her and an additional Ruger SR22 for dirt cheap practice time and plinking. Picture is just a blurry cell pic but you get the point.

It was from harbor freight. To be honest I wasn't happy with it so bought a Brinkman and returned that one. Brinkman is sooooo much brighter.
