  1. Yea..as scheduled it rained about an hour after i finished. I put my car in the garage and the wife's dirty camaro out in the rain instead shhhh.
  2. So there I was yesterday looking out my window at a gray 38 degree day in upstate NY. The forecast said it was going to rain in about 4hrs but something inside me still found it a need to go outside in pants/sweatshirt/winter hat and bust out the buckets, hose and Adams gear to clean up my Charger. We took a road trip last weekend to Michigan and back. On the way there we hit snow with road salting and the way home it was 7hrs of straight rain. Needless to say my brilliant black was barely a dull gray from top to bottom. So after some very numb hands and a few hours, she got a two bucks wash, foam gun bath, pool rinse, DS wipe down dry and some VRT trim treatment. I also had to but out the interior products and metro vac to clean out the inside. We took the pooch with us so there was quite a bit of fur in the back. But..all i can say is what a mental relief to have her cleaned up and shining again. Yes...it definitely is an addiction.
  3. Or any of the 150 straight days of freezing gray cold snow here in upstate NY:willy:
  4. Can i ask why you mounted the tv off center? It looks like its over to the left side quite a bit more.
  5. I used to freak out about this same sort of thing but overall now no matter what the season, I'm confident I can fix whatever damage shows up so for winter I try to keep the car clean as can be, but if I cause some damage from brushing off snow or something else I don't really care. Come spring I'm going to do my biannual strip wash, clay, polish, reseal, wax anyways.
  6. Per a post Dylan just made in the debadging thread....apparently some folks are seeing staining on white cars from goo gone. I'd try the wd40 or 3m Adhesive remover.

    Looking for input

Dang I actually LOVE the look of that badboy! Yea it goes without saying you DEF are the tops in Charger mods in my book. Something tells me you'll also say "both" Agreed. 110% Saddly I don't have the deep pockets I think that Chase is rocking so I need to do this in baby steps. And I'm often torn between..new gun or Charger mods. Also..related question. Is there something that keeps me from using say 20" wheels during the spring and switching back to 18" snow tires in the winter?

Contemplating some changes on my charger. Thinking either going to 20" wheels or putting on some adjustable suspension to lower the stance a bit. Right now its just a stock 09 Charger on 18" wheels. Thoughts?
  9. My daughter is a vet tech. She just switched our dog over to Trifexis. Its a three in one product.

    New Handgun

Very nice..although is this overly restrictive state of NY we can't carry any mag past 10 rnds. You know cuz 10 rnds are much safer than 12 or 15. Ohh politicians how i loathe thee.

Great shots! Beautiful scenery for any activity but being able to golf it is just a bonus.

Nice buy! Do you like it with the extended mag on it? I'm thinking for CC that longer mag might be a bit big. What's the round capacity? I think the XDs subcompact .45 is my next buy
  13. Great job! I've never seen a 63 in that color..and now that I have I'm an instant fan. She looks dripping wet.
  14. Thanks folks. It did clean up surprisingly well. He's left with 4-5 of the sap spots etched bad enough into his paint that I couldn't get out but all in all I think it's better than it's looked in probably 10 years. Has anyone else noticed when you do a detail for someone you suddenly start noticing that same particular brand car around town more all of a sudden? We were out lastnight and saw 4 more miatas, same style convertibles.
  15. Detailed a 15 year old Miata this past weeked that self admitted by the owner hasn't been touched from a cleaning standpoint for 5-7 years. As he put it, he is an engine guy and could care less what the car looks like as long as it performs. Well this philosophy became evident upon inspection. The owner clearly has many pine trees around his house as the interior was loaded with dead pine needles and stones and the paint had 20+ pine sap adhesions. The car arrived a very very dull green. Thankfully when it left I was able to remind the owner the car actually is a metallic green with flake in the paint. That was one of his first comments.."hey I don't remember this being a metallic green". Process standpoint was a good rinse (didn't do much good as most dirt was adhered (grime, dust, scratches, sap). That was followed with a strip wash using Dawn then a round of clay. Trashed a 1/3 piece of clay with this job. Saddly the clay didn't touch the pine sap blobs. After clay I busted out the 3M adhesive remover to work on the sap blobs. This softened them up enough where i could then scrape them up with my fingernail. Saddly though what was revealed was some bad bad etching in many spots. After the sap attack I cleaned the interior with the full Adams suite. The VacN Blow 500 ate up all the stones and pine needles quite well. A good wipe down with LIC and then a healthy dose of Adams leather conditioner and the interior was shaping up. Next came some polishing. I told the customer (prior to seeing his vehicle) I normally could do a polish pass and see how it looked if more aggressive steps were needed. Well it didn't take all of 2 seconds after seeing the vehicle a polish pass would still leave this car in bad shape. I had been looking for the chance to test out some other 3rd party polishes in hopes of finding something a little more aggressive then the Adams SSR. Much to my delight this was a great opportunity and the other product came through with flying colors. We'll avoid the discussion on that though since it's not an Adams product. After the two level of buffing were done (using the flex) I finished up with a good coat of MSS and cleaned the windows. All in all i was real happy with the turn around after the state is arrived in and the owner was ecstatic! Not that I converted him to caring about the exterior going forward but he did enjoy the "clean good looking ride" he drove away with. Onto some pics: After shots!
  16. Sweet purchase! Personally I'm in love with the Boss in Grabber..but hey this color looks pretty awesome as well! Can't wait to see more pics.
  17. Congrats! The mind is an ever impressive thing. Keep doing what youre doing.
