While working on my supercharger project I needed an offset screwdriver, and I realized it would be a lot easier if I had a ratcheting offset driver. In my quest to find one, I came across Chapman Manufacturing. Located in Durham, CT, they make a bit ratchet and various bit kits. They're just as dedicated to the American-made philosophy as Adam's is. Here's a quote from their website:
Since I believe it's better to have a tool and not need it, than to need a tool and not have it, I went ahead and ordered their Master Kit even though I'll probably never use most of the bits. It comes in a nicely organized hard case with a "Made in the USA" sticker proudly displayed on it (more on this later.)
At the core of every kit is their twenty tooth ratchet. To be completely honest, the mechanism is nowhere near as nice as my Snap-on Dual 80, but to be fair that's not really an apples to apples comparison. For something this size it's totally adequate. The bits slide through the hex of the ratchet and are knurled no the end so that you can spin them with your fingers.
Back to that sticker I mentioned, I think one of my other cases in my toolbox got jealous because as it dragged over it, it tore off half the sticker.
On Friday I emailed Chapman asking if I could order just the sticker. I got a prompt response saying I couldn't buy one, but they'd gladly mail me one for free on Monday. Today I got this in the mail:
To sum things up, Chapman is a small American company, dedicated to American jobs, and their customer service is just as amazing as Adam's. What's not to like?
