  1. In applying wax I might be putting too much on the Americana applicator. I applied it as usual = lint. Cleaned that area with WW & DS. I did not reload applicator but scraped the applicator on the edge of the tub removing excess wax from the applicator. I reapplied less to the same area and wipped with a different towel = no lint. Less is more . I'll rewash all towels and see how it goes from there. It is cooler and less humid this morning.
  2. Chris , It's a thought. Tomorrow I'll do a test spot and see. I rewashed 3 of the single softs tonite and by tomorrow they should be dry. I'll clay, SS, wipe, note results and bag the towel. Then I 'll wait 12 hrs , glaze and wipe using a different towel and ditto the same with wax. This way maybe something will stand out with this part of the process. I'm beginning to wonder if I used too much product or may don't let it dry long enough.... or should I wait for the new towels to try this?
  3. I'm not asking for new towels. All I want to accomplish is to wax my ride and not have to finish the proceedure only to deal with lint removal. I'll get my wife to help me boil these. I re wash and see what happens. Of course the new towels I just bought will never mix with the liniting one; I'll get a new container for the new ones.
  4. I boiled the towels that you guys sent repleacements for and still had lint. Those towels were pitched and the rubber maid container was rinsed and wiped clean in prep for storing the new towels.
  5. Dylan, I appreciate the guarantee, but feel cheeky about doing so. You guys have repleaced a batch of towels which I really appreciate but I'm frustrated that this problem showed up ... again. I ordered 8 new single softs from Mario on Monday; its not a $ thing but a frustration that after spending hours detailing only to see my ride grow a 5 oclock shadow when I'm almost finished. These towels are only used in the removal of SS, glaze and wax. I question my proceedure in that maybe the products are not totally dry and I maybe trying to wipe it off too soon or is the 100% Louisiana humidity is causing a problem. My last SS, glaze and wax was in Feb and worked with no problem. Last weekendwith it being 97 degrees and 80% humidity I polished, SS, glazed and waxed and here comes the lint. I used a WW towel and detail spray to remove the lint.
  6. I see in this section where someone is hand washing; maybe I'l try that.
  7. As Mook suggested I wiped the washer barrel with APC and a dark WW towel; nothing showed up on the dark towel that would lead me to believe that it was my washer. I have 8 new single softs on the way and do not want a linting problem to show up. The 3 dbl softs have been used, washed no more than 5 times and the 6 single softs maybe 10 times. All look brand new but have a lint problem. These softs have only been used to remove SS, Glaze and Americana. I return to my original thoughts of heat and humidity creating a lint problem. I don't mind spending the $ ( I probably spend $75- 100 a monthon adams products) but they should last longer than this. I could understand if I were a professional using / washing them on a weekly basis.
  8. Washer- I hang dry. Wipe down the barrel w/ APC & a utility or WW towel.
  9. You're correct. I washed 2 single soft hot , rinsed twice and hung dry. Tried this morning and was still Linting. Boil water - 2 caps vinegar - leave in boiling water how long? Rinse cold and wash as normal procedure .
  10. would washing on hot cycle do the same as a boil? I now wash warm and rinse twice.
  11. PS: these towels are only used for removing sealant , wax and glaze. These towels are not washed with another towels. The only change is inlieu of wool lite I'm now using Adams microfiber wash and yes I followed the instructions.
  12. I had these towels for about a year. No Linting problem whatsoever - until now. On all 6 single soft and 3 dbl soft. I have not changed my washing nor drying procedures. Could it be the unbelievably hot humid Louisiana weather? Any ideas?
  13. I use the Master blaster, pooling rinse and waffle weave WW towel . Great white is for the top of the highlander. Arthritis in my hands doesn't help wringing it out.
  14. Mustang doesn't need it; wife's Highlander does. I mostly use the WW - absorbs well and easy to wring out.
  15. I find the towel too big to handle/ wring out. Can it be cut in half ?
  16. dbls and singles are for glaze and americana. waterless wash towels are for WW and DS.
  17. Garage dust.... blow off with Master Blaster and then waterless wash. Anything else is a full wash - foam gun etc.
  18. PS: this is a hobby; once you start taking $ it becomes a job.
  19. Every weekend I detail 2 Camrys, 1 Highlander and 1 GT. Plus I have an open door policy to anyone that the garage door opens at 05:00 and if you need help stop by. Those who stop by learn and appreciate how to and what goes into a detail. I've converted 10 plus from off the shelf products to Adams. Give a man fish and he's dependent on you. Teach a man how to fish and he appreciates you.
  20. Not debating that. I could spend hours, and have, on my own ride and not think anything of it. Most people do not appreciate the detailed work, nor would want to pay for it. Example: I spent 9 hours on my wife's car- it was perfect- the only thing she noticed was that her Highlander smelled good.
