  1. I've had good results with In & Out Spray on my Harley's black engine parts.
  2. Not my first choice either, but maybe the point is to be period correct. Though if that's the case, it could use some Halibrands or Torq Thrusts.
  3. Do you occasionally get to drive any of these cars besides in and out of the garage? I don't mean in a Ferris Bueller way, but with full permission/supervision or at least get to cruise as a passenger?
  4. Famous last words. You probably shouldn't have put that in writing.
  5. Have you featured the Chevelle hiding in the corner yet?
  6. Did you use 1 and 2? Any tips for getting in and around the tight spaces?
  7. She looks as good as new! Is the triple tree chrome or polished on that one? I struggle to keep mine (polished) shiny.
  8. That's an impressive fleet you've got there! How in the world did you manage to get so much done this weekend? Did you not eat or sleep?
  9. Simply beautiful! That must be a rare color; I love the metallic sparkle in it. And you can't just tease us with that garage shot!
  10. What a beautiful automobile! And I just learned something: I didn't realize they used the Impala name on that model (I thought it started with the '59 body style). Also, is that a 2000-ish CVO Wide Glide, aka "Switchblade," in the background?
  11. I'd rent a car and take it over there just for the show...
  12. This is a great concept. MT does just about all you can reasonably expect to make this a fair competition, but no matter how you slice it "best driver's car" will always be subjective. And while auto magazine guys have one of the best jobs around, you can't please everyone no matter what you do. Also, from the article:
  13. One thing I love about the internet is it makes it so easy to sell things to non-local people. Between ebay, enthusiast forums, and craigslist, I've sold vehicles to (and bought from) folks hundreds or even thousands of miles away. My point is once I sell a vehicle I don't want to see it all over town. I mean, isn't it always awkward when you run into an ex-girlfriend?
  14. Yes, and I admit it's more than capable for the vast majority (i.e. it's a smart business move on Ford's part). It's just that every vehicle I've ever owned has been RWD and V8 powered, and the older I get the more set in my ways (hard-headed) I am. And dangit, back in my day SUVs were built on truck platforms! Now if you'll excuse me, there are some damn kids I need to get off my lawn.
  15. That reminds me, my Dad recently had knee surgery so his Corvette needs to be driven and probably washed. I'd be doing him a favor...
  16. Nice work! The height/stance is just right. I didn't even notice the air dam removal until you mentioned it. My first thought was if that had any negative effects on cooling, but I suppose that's only an issue on lower vehicles.
  17. There's a lot to like about the Explorer Sport (to quote Clarkson: Powwwwerrrrrr!!!), but I can't get over my bias against front wheel drive and it being on a car platform, no matter how good it is.
  18. I wanted to resurrect this one for some of the newer folks (like me) to appreciate this awesome Chevelle!
  19. I love the lights and grill on those Rivieras. A lot will depend on how it was stored, but as others have mentioned, expect a fair amount of oxidized paint (transfer). And when in doubt, do the least aggressive correction method/product and go from there.
  20. Bad ***! I dig the look, but that bare metal would have rust on it within the hour in this humidity.
  21. Lookin' good! I really like the stance on that Elky! By the way, I consider them cars since they're on the A-body platform.
  22. Admittedly, I'm biased toward Lance, but I feel like this whole thing reeks of a witch hunt. Does the USADA even have the jurisdiction to strip Tour de France titles? Isn't that UCI's call? Either way, it just seems suspicious that after all the drug tests he passed at the time of his winning that they keep coming after him. Someone obviously has an axe to grind. Who knows, maybe he did use something. But again, he passed dozens of tests at the time. No one was under more scrutiny than Lance Armstrong. I still consider him a 7-time Tour winner.
  23. Very nice! The 1st gen CTS-V is very underappreciated (granted, the newer ones are amazing). I think that one would look even better if the wheels were either shinier (chrome/polished) or darker (gunmetal or black).
  24. So many layers! I think the idea here is supposed to be light weight.
  25. This is why we can't have nice things! But I do like the suggestion of Soylent Green.
