  1. Yes! Beauty, beauty, beauty! At first I thought this car was a time capsule, but there's no way it looked that good even when it was new. The reflection shots are impressive. Also, I have to chuckle at the practicality of a floor-mounted tach, although I admit it's a very cool piece.
  2. After further research, I've found another option for hiding your plate online: This Is The Laziest Thing We've Ever Seen On Craigslist
  3. Very nice! And by the way, if you're referencing the 80s, 23 was popularized by Ryne Sandberg and Don Mattingly.
  4. Don't you need the Detail Spray to act as a lubricant when claying? I'd be afraid to rely on the water left from rinsing (if that's what you're saying).
  5. I find taping a $100 bill to your resume' works well. Yes, it's always worse to get caught in a lie than to be honest about your shortcomings. Even if you manage to get the job, you'll likely be fired when they find out you weren't truthful on your resume/interview. If you're lacking in one area but they like everything else, you still have a chance.
  6. Welcome, Alex! We're going to hold you to that!
  7. That's really hazardous to your health.(not to mention bad for your vehicle)
  8. Mistakes happen, but that sounds like some serious incompetence. Hopefully they did what they could towards making it right. But it sounds appropriate that the new shop is in Phoenix, since the Chevelle will emerge from the fire better than before!
  9. Don't be afraid to go with a truck engine as they are cheaper and plentiful, and have great heads so a cam swap really wakes them up. However, as much of a Gen III/IV proponent as I am, it's always bothered me that they don't sound "right" in the old hot rods due to their firing order. And though I think carburetors work on voodoo, again the old cars look better when you pop the hood and there's a big round air cleaner on top. Having said all that, for my money I'd probably swap in a late-model fuel injected engine. I thought through this for my old truck, and the hp/dollar is hard to beat when comparing a takeout 5.3 (with cam upgrade) or LS1 to a 350+hp old school carb setup. Not to mention driveability and fuel economy. But I also realize they don't just drop right in; you have to do a little fab work for motor mounts and maybe trans mount, plus all the considerations for electronics (though all these things are available in well designed kits these days). It's a tough call, and I guess your skill level and how you plan to use the car are the deciding factors. Oh yeah, and $$$.

    Sooo expensive!

Yes, it's like therapy. Think about how you feel when your vehicle is dirty vs when it's clean. Plus, I enjoy the process.
  11. Nice turnaround. I'm surprised how bad it was to start with.
  12. Every time I see a shiny semi, I can't help but think how much time and Adam's products it would take to keep it that way.
  13. You should've cried or showed some cleavage.

    Remembering 9/11

Mayben, is that your ink? That's awesome!
  15. I can see both sides. I've never blurred my plate, but I'm also not likely to show rear shots of my vehicles in the first place (simply because 3/4 and profiles shots look better). But it's no big deal to block the plate if you want to. As long as you're posting digital pics, it's not hard to use something as basic as a black line from MS Paint. Which brings up the question what are folks using for the cool swirl effect, Photoshop?

    Remembering 9/11

Never forget. Besides the horrors of that day, I remember the surge of patriotism and how all Americans seemed to put aside our petty differences and come together. Too bad that turned out to be temporary, but it did remind us that there are still plenty of heroes around, and we can all work together if we choose to.
  17. I always do this, too. It's funny I have to start the trip clean, because it makes it that much more frustrating when you get all the bugs and stuff messing up your wash job when you get to your destination (always take a bottle of Waterless Wash).
  18. I know almost everything on this forum is pro-Adams (naturally), but the Great White truly is the best drying product I've ever used on a vehicle. I've used chamois, Absorber, and various blends of towel, and the Great White beats them all. I don't want to hype it up too much, but to anyone on the fence about it, you won't regret the purchase.
  19. I didn't think they let Mook interact directly with the customers...
  20. I'll be out that way next month. Any chance for a nickel tour of the facility?
  21. It's not always necessary, but I do use a rag or sponge to even it out sometimes.
  22. You're probably right. I've been impressed with my Great White from day 1. But I've been using the blower before a towel for years, so it's not like I'm soaking up a ton of water. Still, it's nice to dry my whole truck with one towel.
  23. Yes, to some degree. Also, what else I have going on may determine how detailed a cleaning I do.
  24. I feel bad for laughing...but I did. This is yet another video that makes me wonder why they were recording in the first place. If they were just out cruising in the boat, what did they expect to happen? And why record a shot of the passengers instead of their point of view?
  25. First off, congratulations on 30 years! I trust you both made it back? Thanks for sharing the pics. I vow to take some sort of Alaskan motorcycle trip someday.
