  1. Wow, I don't blame you one bit for never giving that dealership your business. I have an very close association with both Porsche dealerships here in Atlanta and I can tell you that neither one would not call you back right away, if not sooner. Even if you were not going to 'buy the car today'. If you like, I'll have a sales manager call you, tomorrow, and I'll even make sure that if they can get you a Guards Red/Tan 911 Turbo, I will have them ship it to you for free if you are in the US (not CA, AK or HI though). Maybe even a discount ??? Just PM me with your number. It does make you scratch your head, doesn't it???
  2. So today I decided to give some Adam's Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner a chance at my Harley seats and bags. The seat is a Mustang full leather seat and the saddle bags are Harley leather. Well, I do think this is the best they have ever looked! Just the right about of sheen and not slippery at all. I'm impressed.
  3. Why would you say that?? Are these products not going to get the Official Seal of Approval?
  4. I'm curious when we might expect to see the rest of the product line, especially the three step polishes, receive the GM logo on the bottles.
  5. This is a great thread!! DD will sooner or later will need some paint correction. Now you know why 'filler' type products are so popular. It's easy to hide them, but you have to keep hiding them, and hiding them and hiding them. Me, I prefer to use good technique and when I have time (no set schedule) hit it with the FLEX. One thing, It's super easy to work on one panel at a time. No one says you have to do the whole car at once, especially if the swirls are not all that bad or very minimal. That's how I keep my Black Vette looking good. As time permits, I do the hood, or the back or a door and call it quits. Works for me!! Sort of reminds me of the show I saw about painting the Verrzano-Narrows Bridge. They start on one side and go to the other. When they get to the end at the other side it's time to go back and start again.
  6. My first order of LIC will arrive on Friday. Does this mean I should plan on transfering the product to another container right away and avoid this potential problem??
  7. I'm curious why none of the Adams folks have commented on this??
  8. I am definitely going to have to give this product a whirl. Those results are just amazing. I will be doing the seats in the Porsche (tan) and Corvette (black) and take some before and after shots. The Porsche seats have not been cleaned since 2006 so this should really be a great opportunity to see this product in action!
  9. This is an 'insider' trick used at the Porsche dealership where my wife works for windows. Far more effective than the clay bar. To do this, it's very simple. Start with the window absolutely dry, no pre-cleaning necessary, and start rubbing until the glass feels smooth. It might take awhile for some stubborn stains but they will come out. One caution!! Be careful with the side mirrors, as they are not necessarily the same glass as the windows of the car. Recommended only for the outside glass, not the interior side. Thereafter, like the clay bar, you should maintain the windows with the glass cleaner and good wash technique to avoid future water spots. Adam's should offer some 0000 steel wool for glass....
  10. As an owner of a Corvette, this is really exciting!! Will we be seeing the Adams products now available at the place behind me in this photo along with all the other Officially Sponsored GM products for the Corvette?
  11. Dylan, just trying to understand the proper order for these products as would apply for my black daily driver Corvette which sits in a parking lot sometimes for 4 days at a time. After I have it all polished up, would I first apply a single coat of Brilliant Glaze followed by the Machine Super Sealant? Perhaps two coats of the MSS, 12 hours apart. That would be my guess as the Glaze has no protective value but does have some filling properties. The Machine Super Sealant certainly sounds like the ticket due to it's high protection and longevity. The real question is would the sealant application remove the glaze? And where might the Adams Quick Sealant fit in here? Thanks -Chet
  12. sales man: "its military grade. That means it's bullet proof." Me: " Great!! Let me get my 9mm from my car and test this out"
  13. Thanks Dylan for the suggestions. I will try a bit less polish and maybe also a smaller area. Watching the video I do notice I tend to speed up as I progress rather than a very constant speed. I'll work on that. Taping is of course a great idea for the reason you stated. I just didn't...rushing to make the video. I will in the future. Thanks for the feedback!!!! -Chet
  14. Hijacking my own thread for just as second and then we can get back to the Adams polishes and the FLEX..... This is a shot of my Harley Heritage Softail windscreen. I've been wiping bugs and road grime off this for over a year (10,000 miles worth) using that un-mentioned yellow microfiber towel everyone is so hung up on saying may be my problem. The blue sky shot is a 100% enlargement of the center of the first photo. The plastic windscreen is way softer than any clearcoat paint on any car and scratches super easily. One bad cleaning and it will scratch horribly! It's never been polished, just sprayed with a quick detail type product and cleaned with that yellow microfiber towel. It's still like new!!! (everything you see is reflections, including that white-ish spot on the lower right of the second photo). OK, now back to the three stage polish and FLEX usage! Sorry for the diversion. Full shot 100% Enlargement of center of windscreen!
  15. I have both. Yes the flex is better all around but a bit more difficult to use. I just posted a video of my new experience with the FLEX in another thread. I think most will agree the FLEX is the best and safest DA ever made!!
  16. Posted this video in it's own thread but it was suggested I also put it here to explain the slow(er) speed used. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hupqG3pWa90]Flex and Adams (White Pad) - YouTube[/ame]
  17. Great, forgot to do that!! I will do that right now!! Thanks!!!
  18. To answer the questions and comments so far: microfiber towel; I've been using these for years and especially on my Harley which has an absolutely flawless finish. No the towel is not the problem...even if it is not an Adams product! Others work too...by the way! Pad: that pad is new. Used once before and throughly cleaned. it does look dirty in the video but it is not. Also, it was primed before (not after) the polish was applied. But I could be using too much polish. That is something I will consider. Three peas was all that was in the second pass.
  19. Dylan asked that I video tape my technique using the FLEX and FMP. So, I threw this together just for fun! Comments appreciated..... My armor is on [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hupqG3pWa90]Flex and Adams (White Pad) - YouTube[/ame]
  20. Yup, that's what I'm saying Now, the second photo is a bit further back so it looks somewhat better but yes, slowing down to a 4, for my technique, it was did that! Bear in mind, that first photo is greatly magnified, and with the naked eye, it was nearly impossible to see all that. The white dots are left over polish actually, I make the mistake of not re shooting the pic with them all removed. The camera and flash set to macro just makes things looks about as bad as it can get. If you look closely, you will still see a scratch just above the flash bright spot. I should say this is a Daily Driver and the goal for me it to get it to the point where just hitting it once a every other week or so with the FMP/White pad and some protection (still undecided on what to use for that) will give me a finish that looks getter than the average daily driver.
  21. I wasn't unhappy so to speak, just disappointed (in me) that I was not getting the results that I know the FLEX and the Adams products are capable of delivering. I am happy that I'm getting the hang of it, that's for sure!!
