  1. With my paint I'll be putting on the color coat and then the clear coat so it will be interesting to see if I get the same loss of gloss that TGO mentioned. Will be tackling this next weekend after the stuff has arrived.
  2. Damn.......well it didn't take long for my baby to get her first chip. I've ordered some touch up paint and the clear coat as well as the Langka kit and plan on doing the correction next weekend. Did my usual weekend wash but am holding off on doing a Flex polishing/sealing/waxing until after the chip is addressed. Any sage advice would be greatly appreciated as I'll be losing my virginity on several fronts doing this.
  3. You were absolutely correct Mr. Hot! My little electric 1700 psi 1.4 GPM PW is doing great with the MTM foam cannon! Have been using 2 pumps (about 2 oz) of the Adams soap to the bottle and it seems to produce really great foam. Now I just have to set up a quick disconnect for the MTM FC and I'll be golden!
  4. Thanks Gerry! After I get through this newly ordered gallon of DWC I'll go back to GWC. My brakes don't seem to generate significant brake dust and my Pearl is not a DD so I'm thinking the GWC will do me just fine.
  5. So what exactly is the difference between the two (DWC vs. GWC)? I'm assuming (hate that word) that DWC has more cleaning power but am curious about the long term effect on clear coated wheels.
  6. This is a little disheartening...........I recently purchased an electric PW (1700 psi/1.4 GPM) and I've got an MTM cannon on the way. I'm getting the feeling I'm going to be disappointed with the foam it produces.........I'll know for sure once the cannon arrives. Sure hope I'm wrong.............
  7. Didn't seem to affect it much so I'm thinking the clear coat and my previous coat of Americana protected it. I've never been concerned about things like this until now.........just curious as to exactly what gas on the paint does to the finish and if there are any lasting effects.
  8. So I took the Pearl out yesterday in the pouring rain and while I'm getting gas..... I'm day dreaming............you know the rest of the story... Haven't really had a chance to do much cleaning up (that's today). How bad is gas on the paint and are there any lasting effects?
  9. Looking forward to these new caps and I gotta get me some of those gallon pumps! While we're on the topic of new caps I was pouring some brand new Total Interior Detailer from a gallon jug into a spray bottle using the Adams screw on funnel. The gallon jug seemed to have a problem dripping while pouring and thus losing some product. Is it my technique or is there something like a "drip-proof" spout that could be in the works? It's heartbreaking watching that wonderful product run down the side of that jug during a pour......
  10. So for the delicate interior items (i.e. gauges, clear plastic, NAV screens, etc.) are we talking glass cleaner and a supersoft MFT?
  11. I've gone over the threads about the California Duster and was wondering what the consensus is for using something like that (or a Swiffer(?) duster) when doing the interior (i.e. the dash, etc.)?
  12. I would SO love to go to one of these demos. I keep looking for something in the NC/TN area but haven't had any luck so far.........finally got a Flex coming and want to be as fully prepared as possible!
  13. I love the fact that Adams does their best to exclusively use American made products......unfortunately I believe this has become a very difficult task in the current "world economy." I'm completely "down" with quality products from other nations when similar American made products can't measure up. Having said that I too have a few issues with the tops coming off the spray bottles and having to insure they are tight but I do like that particular design. The Polish design....not so much but the color coding thing is nice.
  14. So this past Saturday I spent the entire day giving the Black Pearl it's first top to bottom Adams treatment! She loved it and so did I! 3 bucket wash, claying, polishing, glazing and finishing with Americana (1 coat)! Needless to say I can definitely see a Flex in my future! Anyway, get up the Sunday morning after a night of hacking and coughing only to find that old nemesis Spring pollen lightly coating The Pearl! I only have a carport so unfortunately that will be my lot in life for the next several weeks. I'm REALLY glad I got that first coat of wax on the paint. Just wondering how everyone else deals with this.
  15. Thanks for the reminder Chewy! Will DEFINITELY remember that one! Do any of you guys/gals (who may be vertically challenged) use a step stool (or something) to reach the entire roof?
  16. I'm thinking the first couple of times I'll be using the Americana. Haven't waxed a car in decades so I'll "train" with the $70 can first. What kind of shelf life does this stuff have?
  17. So I've got both the Americana and the Patriot wax.....ordered the Americana before the Patriot reveal. In another week, depnding upon the weather, I'll be doing my first top to bottom Adam's detail on my new baby. Question is which wax should I use first? and then.......should I alternate or just use one up before starting on the next one?
  18. Because of this "beast" I'm having the water line to my hose spigot replaced with a larger line coming directly off the main feed into the house!
  19. Hey Randy....besides a good photo of my ride what do you need to do the sig?
  20. You weren't dreaming........I heard/saw that too......sure would be a nice addition to the Adams line of products!
  21. How "far" does a single can of clay go?
