  1. What's up with the pair of legs with no body attached? Look above the people walking down the stairs.
  2. Actually, Radar detectors help a little but if the operator knows what he is doing then a detector is useless. And a detector is useless against Laser unless the laser gets pointed right at the detector, which is usually unlikely. Radar's have a HOLD button, where the Radar is on but not transmitting. One click of that button and the Radar has your speed- instantly, before you can even react. But if the operator is just sitting there with the radar going and not turning the hold off and on, then yes your detector will give you an indication that a radar is being used. But I still get people for speeding, and I see their radar detector, then ask them how come it didn't work. Their look is priceless, lol. Oh yeah, and the radar detector definitely won't save you from aircraft speed measurement.
  3. I was just trying to give you some perspective from the other side of the fence. You really can't prove that you weren't speeding because we are trained on operating the equipment and the equipment is calibrated. So there is a small margin of error if the operator is doing his job correctly. The reason the judges don't throw out your ticket is because everyone comes in all day, every day, with the same argument. They hear probably hundreds of tickets a day, and I'm sure the same excuses get repetitive. Most officers won't write tickets to drivers who are speeding less than 10mph over the limit, and in Florida you can't write a ticket if they are doing 5mph or less (but you can still stop them). The only exception to this is School Zones and Construction Zones. In my county, 1mph over the limit in a school or work zone, will cost you about $80. I don't write tickets for people doing 15mph or less over the limit, but that's my personal preference.
  4. As a Law Enforcement Officer of 12 years, allow me to shed some light on this subject. I'll try to keep this as simple and short as I can. First, I have been Radar Certified for 11.5 years, and I'm also Laser certified. Very rarely, as a radar operator, do I stop someone and give them a ticket where they actually admit fault and apologize (which is the best method that will sometimes net you a break). I'm not saying to admit fault and apologize for something you didn't do, but if you know you're wrong or even have a doubt, then you were probably wrong. Second, when you are driving down the road and you notice a police car on the side of the road which you believe to be conducting speed enforcement, your initial reaction is probably the same as most everyone else's (stomp the brake pedal). Now prior to you even looking down at the speedo, lets say you are cruising along at 80mph in a 70mph speed zone. As you look at that police car, and you stomp your brakes, your next reaction after you've already slowed down 10mph or more is to look down at your speedo and see how fast you think you were going. Well now that you've stomped the brake and it's taken you about 2 secs to look down, you're probably doing 70mph. Most people think that the 70mph speed they see is the actual speed they were going. But majority of the time the officer already had you on Radar prior to you even seeing him on the side of the road. To pass the radar class, one of the exercises we had to do was visually estimate vehicle speeds while standing on the side of the road and while operating a vehicle. Yo had to do this a certain number of times in order to pass. The instructor was there to verify your visual estimation with a radar or laser gun. Officers must first visually verify your speed prior to even activating a radar or laser, then they use the radar or laser to confirm their estimation. Lasers are VERY ACCURATE and you will most likely never beat a Laser ticket by using the "it wasn't me" excuse. Laser can pinpoint a motorcycle between two tractor trailers. Radars have more room for error, and must be calibrated every 6 months. Most people don't have much of an understanding of how a Radar works. I can tell you that it doesn't always measure the vehicle closest to the operator, or doesn't always measure the fastest. It measures the BEST SIGNAL for the reflection of the Radar beam. Yes I can get you speeding with a Radar even if you aren't the only car on the road. And I can get you on Radar loooong before you know I'm even there. And yes Radar can get you while the operator is stationary or moving. Officers have to go to a certification class to operate a Radar, and they must show proof of certification in court. I can only speak on behalf of Florida Laws, but we must also do a Daily Calibration Log and a 6 month Calibration. Failure to provide proof of those will result in a dismissed ticket in trial. The Radar is only as accurate as the operator. Officers are usually taught that if they aren't 100% sure that the vehicle they are stopping is the vehicle that was speeding, do not write the ticket. But officers are humans, not machines, and therefor we are subject to making mistakes like everyone else. So the statement about lying may not always be true, if the officer made an unintentional mistake. I know that I write about 30 tickets a month, and a trial usually takes 3 months to go to court. So is it possible that 3 months, and 90 tickets later I may make a mistake about what happened the day I stopped you? Sure. Last, arguing your point on the side of the road will never get you anywhere good. It will usually only make the officer want to write you another ticket. If you don't agree with the ticket, take it to trial. Hire an attorney or go to court yourself. But just like most coaches who come out screaming at the referees or umpires, the call on the field stands. Arguing with the officer doesn't make the situation any better for anybody. Hopefully I've cleared up some of the confusion about traffic stops and Radar. I can't speak for this situation because there is only one side of the story and I wasn't there. Is it possible that the officer got you on Radar and wanted to stop both cars? I'd say so. Is it possible he made a mistake? I'd say so.
  5. They got me again today with the damn daily special! I almost bought the microfiber revitalizer package too, but figured that can wait until black friday. Hopefully there will be some good specials then.
  6. 2010 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor. Trunk has heavy scratches due to setting heavy equipment on it. Almost all the deep scratches came out. There was two areas where I'm guessing bird droppings sat for an extended period of time and ate into the clear coat because they aren't budging. This was done with SSR (about 8 passes), SHR (also about 8 passes), FMP (6 passes), Brilliant Glaze, and Americana. I had to purchase and use the focus pad system for the really deep scratches. http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/6489/img0021pwf.jpg' alt='img0021pwf.jpg'>
  7. Dear Adams- please don't run anymore daily specials or add any NEW products to your page. I can't stop buying stuff, even if I don't need it yet. Figured I'd buy the daily special of buttery wax even though I don't have it yet, and for no reason I bought the metal polish set and blue pad- only because I don't have it yet and may need it someday.
  8. I requested a few Volume 8 DVD's with my last order and handed them out already. I already got one friend to order some stuff, I'm sure once he tries it out he'll be spreading the word.
  9. It's all good. I enjoy doing it and I'm now trying to convince my friends to buy the stuff.
  10. Those don't look like the same headlights to me. Am I missing something?
  11. If you get the SVRT now it comes with the In and Out (Veterans Day Special).
  12. #1 would apply but she can't beat me to the mailbox, I sit in the garage with the door open just waiting, or watch my security cameras to see if the package is on the porch #2 I just bought the gallon refills instead. But I do have 2.5 bottles of APC and 2 bottles of Detail Spray #3 I use the dryer on low heat #4 I just subscribed to that thread a few nights ago #5 Haven't got that far yet, but that's a great idea
  13. Will do, as soon as I get the chance to get the whole system done. To be honest my truck really isn't that bad, I bought it used. It's just got some light swirl marks from the previous owner running it thru the auto car washer. But I got the whole shabang of correction materials so I can get it perfect, then seal it up and wax it. Want that baby to bead up every time it gets wet.
  14. :worth: I know there's been some fixin done to that already. Lets see it!
  15. Maybe we should look into starting a "Detailing Addiction Support Group". :welcomebanner:I've only been a member of the Adams world for about 2 months, and I find myself scrolling thru their website just to make sure there is nothing I haven't forgot to order on my last 3 orders. Dylan was great helping me out with getting what I needed, and making everything right. I'm sure there are some of you guys who have WAY more Adams supplies than I do, but I just got started last month or so. Here's my garage after my 3rd order came in today. Am I the only one who anxiously awaits the delivery guy like a kid at Xmas?
  16. Just became a member of the Adams family (no pun intended) last week with my order of the Flex kit and a bunch of other stuff. Followed up my order this week with more "stuff" and a focus kit. I've got nothing but awesome reviews to say about Adams products, their detailed instructional videos, the amount of information on the forums, and most definitely the customer service. Dylan has been overly helpful and has provided far more assistance than any other customer service rep I have dealt with. That being said, being that you guys develop products that work like they are supposed to, have you considered a "Marine" line of wash, polish, wax, etc. for boats? I live in South Fla and have two boats but haven't found products like yours that work as well. I know I'll probably hear that I can just use the auto products on my boat, but I'm pretty sure the sun, sand, and salt water will require some extra additives in your formulas to withstand the abuse. Also, have you guys considered a Headlight Restoration kit? I don't personally need this kit but I know how well your products work and I'm sure there are plenty of guys who could use it. Keep up the good work! It's too bad your company can't set the bar for customer service and quality of products. America would be much better off.
