  1. My round trip to work is 1.4 miles. Takes me about 2 minutes. And omg is it nice!! Eorking close to home is the best. Especially when they always call you for overtime.
  2. I used Arm & hammer detergent. Scent free, fabric softener free, for "sensitive skin". Worked like a charm.
  3. Spent 2 days on my truck and got it back to where i wanted. In the original post, the third, and the last picture were both of my hood. Heres what it looks like now! 2 passes of severe swirl removers, 1 SHR, 1 FMP, BG and Americana.
  4. Thanks for the input guys! I am, without a doubt, printing up those tags for my car. Never letting anyone wash this thing again!! I am on spring break (from work and school!) So i was off all day today. Spent about 7 hours polishing my truck. As i was up close and personal with the paint i was able to see it was much more damaged then i thought. Lots of scratches are'nt coming out. I buffed them best i could. They are no longer noticable unless within 1 foot. But whatever, what am i gonna do, it already happened. Live and learn. On the plus side i got to enjoy 7 hours of detailing (therapy) today. And still have to do the drivers side doors and quarter panel. Cant wait!
  5. Awesome deal. If i didnt just buy a PC id be all over this!
  6. Hey guys! Like 2 weeks ago i started polishing my Trailblazer SS. Over the course of 3 days i was able to get the entire truck done. The paint was in bad shape, and i had to do multiple passes on each panel. It took me a total of about 22hours (of polishing only). But i finally got it perfect. The day after i finished polishing everything out i got rear ended. It was actually by another Trailblazer SS, what are the chances lol. 100% of the damage was the bumper. Nothing else happened, no one was injured. She hit me square on the trailer hitch thanks god. The ladies husband wanted to pay cash out of pocket and not go through insurance. Okay fair enough. He asks me to take it to the body shop next to the pizzeria he owns, i agree. Talk with the guys who seemed very helpful. They told me they dont want to repair the bumper, theyre going to put a BRAND NEW bumper on my 8 year old truck. Paint it, retint my rear reflectors that broke, and remount my rear camera. Wow perfect. Sounded great. My rear bumper had a lot of scratches, chipping paint, spiderweb cracks etc. So i was happy to get a new bumper. They did everything they promised. The bumper came out great, reflctors were tined perfect. I was all around happy with it. The next day im looking at my truck in the sun, and notice.... they destroyed the paint. They "washed" my truck while it was in the shop. The truck was covered entirely with swirl marks. Top to bottom front to back, covered in swirls. It looked like they used a push broom to wash it. But even worse, theres huge streaks of scratches across the entire drivers side and on my hood. I think they brang the hose out and threw it over the roof of my car and started washing on side of the truck, and just dragged the hose across the dirty paint. They put massive sweeping scratches across my hood. One sweep is about 12 inches wide and goes the entire length of the hood. Also whatever "soap" they used ate off all the VRT i dressed all the plastic with. I got it back and all the plastic, and trim is dry as could be. And greyish in color. They were also nice enough to put extreme tire shine on the tires which slung all over my car. Im beyond pissed. I just spent 22 hours getting this paint to perfect and they just ****ed it all up. My dad told me i should go back to them and have them detail it. But my question is do i want to go to someone whos quality of work is that low? Or am i going to be better off doing it myself? Theres also some places where i think i might not even be able to get the scratches out. Im definatly going to have to use the 4 inch focus pads on a drill to buff them out. My PC just wont do it. What do you guys think?? Heres a few pics of the damage. It was hard to photograph, im using a cell phone so focusing in on the scratches was hard, i tried my best lol.
  7. :bow:Wow beautiful. Id love to do some hiking/fishing/camping around there
  8. Great, im not going to be able to sleep tonight
  9. BG eats away at wax? I aays applied brilliant glaze before the wax to make it more durable. The glaze doesnt bond to the paint like a wax, so by putting the wax over the glaze your making the glaze last longer.
  10. This was me and my friends bout 5 years ago tailgating. We always bring the beer pong table with us! As for that cornhole game, its a LOT of fun. My father made a set for m. Also made a ring toss game too. Its a 36" X 36" box with a 6inch PVC pipe in the center. Good times, and makes a great drinking game.
  11. i would soak it with some goof off, bug and tar remover, something like that. LEt it sit for a while. then try and wipe it off.
  12. If you change your own oil there good to funnel the old oil into before you haul it off to autzone/mechanic/where ever Also like mentioned keeping one for diluted chemicals is always a good idea.
  13. multivitamins are always a good choice. Other then eating right, the best thing you can do is strech regularly, stay hydrated (youd be surprised how many people are dehydrated, 90% of people think they drink enough water when they really dont. If your pee is ever yellow, you dont drink enough water) and make sure you have a good pair of shoes that'll give you the support you need. I am on my feet 8 hours a day working with patients. I move strechers with 500lb patients on them, i have to pick patients up, put them into chairs, wheelchairs, pull them from one bed to another bed by using the sheet there on. Take them out of there car when they show up to the ER. Perform CPR. All that kind of stuff. That stuff puts a HUGE stress on every joint in your body. Knees and back espcially. I found that wearing new shoes, and rotating shoes every other day helped so much it was unbelievable. I stopped getting pains in my calves, my knees, and my back.
  14. 30,000$ and its one of those crappy brushless washes. lol.
  15. how will 4 oz of all purpose cleaner in 4 gallons of water strip the wax. That just seems like it wont work. your watering it down 128:1 I've watered APC down 5:1 and saw a HUGE difference in performance. 10:1 was like using water. It did almost nothing. Im just confused at how putting such a little amount of APC will strip wax. (which is engineered to last) Is it possible to do an APC wipe down, like you would do with IPA?
  16. I wish my Trailblazer SS came with those. I would keep them!
  17. Thanks Dylan. You have a way of making things so simple so that even i can understand it. anologies are always spot on. Thanks.
  18. Very cool! and the deep wheel cleaner comes in the kit? Thats awesome thats a brand new product!
  19. I agree with these guys. I should of went straight for the flex. I just recently bought the PC and i think i've reached its limits. My truck is black, almost 8 years old, and has had VERY neglected paint. I've been polishing it every so often on my days off and am not 100% satisfied with the results. There are minor swirl marks that just wont come out with the PC. I mean i got a HUGE improvement over what it was. But the paint wont come perfect. I've did 4 passes (SSR, SHR, FMP) on a bunch of panels and theres still light swirl marks in them. The only way for me to get a perfect panel, is to break out the 4inch focus pads on the cordless drill and go to town. Wish i would of sprang for the flex. But if your car is newer and the paint really hasnt been that badly neglrected im sure you can get away with the PC.
  20. Is a rotary buffer in the hands of a pro, more effective then a DA? Im pretty damn new to polishing so im curious. My good friends dad has been a weekend detailer for 20+ years. And all he uses is a rotary polisher. He refuses to switch to a DA. He said he moves quicker and better with the rotary. What are the benefits of a rotary over a DA. Can a rotary achieve results that a DA cant? P.S Im not looking to get a rotary. I will never use one, because i dont trust myself with it lol. Just curious
  21. i dont see how anyone could not be satisfied with adams!! give it a try, you'll love it!
