  1. I actually have a rotary but it is olddd and still uses an old style pad. It is what i used after we just put fresh paint and color sanded a brand new paint job. It is ONLY used for the first cut of polish, then i proceed with my Adams arsenal. And it was a green SOS pad from what i was told, the ones with metal. Luckily it wasnt the red one i guess.... Haha, i was shocked for the whole story right after he said "he used an SOS pad on his paint" LOL!!!
  2. Will do, it may be a week or so before i get to tackle it. Sounds like a good challenge though.....
  3. I have the full pad set up from Adams, i do ALOT of paint corrections just havent ever done one that had a SOS pad used on it lol! I'm just getting ideas before i see the damage! I love this forum!
  4. I'm sure that's what it will take, im just hoping not. Like i stated above, it's bad that some people really dont know that's a " BIG NO-NO"! But all i can do is try and salvage what he has butchered i dont think it will be as heavy in some spots as other, so maybe my 4" focus pads and a little color sanding will do the trick on the "bad spots"
  5. Well, you read right, i was at my girlfriends house today and her dad hit me up. Her uncle(i understand some people arent smart like us on cars) used an SOS pad to get the "bugs" off of his paint. He said it worked so well that he used it on the whole truck! My question is of the pictures i am attaching what would be your approach. I own a PC and a set of 4" focus pads for the drill. I am very familiar with color sanding and will go that route as a final destination. Any thoughts are appreciated.... I havent visually inspected it yet, i'm almost afriad to.
  6. I really like the TID, i personally dont see much, if any gloss/color difference once applied. It gives it a just cleaned look which is what i prefer. It sends a nice smell to your vehicle as . I carry a bottle with me at all times and send a mist on my carpet EVERY time i get in my truck, It leaves it smelling super fresh!
  7. It's sad that the world loses a person of this caliber at such a young age. It goes to show that you really can't take anything for granted, and we are lucky to have stories like this to remind us of that at random times
  8. I am extremely close to my family so i can only imagine how this family feels, if you have time take a look at this video. This kid looks like he would have become a great man if he had the opportunity. http://www.upworthy.com/this-kid-just-died-what-he-left-behind-is-wondtacular-rip
  9. Sweet truck dude! i have always hated a bed cover, but have a roll up soft cover on my truck. Any thoughts of one for your rig?
  10. is the new forum available on tapatalk? im tapatalk ignorant. i had the old one, do i need to upgrade or something?
  11. I'd design a FlexFit Hat! One to show off why our car is so shiny, plus for the Ultimate Sun Protection for us bald guys (:
  12. If it didn't have so much grease and pitting I would have gone that route, I also put black foam padding on the top shelf to keep the products from sliding around. It turned out really good, one of the sides was bent up from a car on a lift being let down on the cart 20some odd years ago lol! That's where I got the carbon fiber idea to cover it up mostly after I hammered it out!
  13. Quality is the only reason I didn't buy a new one!
  14. Well, my dad has had this Mac Tools cart for north of 30 years. I like bringing stuff back to life so I thought this would be neat, plus it used to belong to my pops! Took it to our local powdercoater who are good friends of mine, It got sandblasted and then powdercoated and cleared. I didn't get any pictures without it being loaded... My ADD kicked in :/ for around 60 bucks it is one heck of a detail cart with some meaning behind it! Enjoy. I also used some 3M Carbon fiber wrap on misc pieces. It is pretty tough and good looking stuff!
  15. Welcome, Mike. I'm abut 50 miles Northeast of you!
  16. What in the world will paint upkeep be like? Looks like it is a Matte White Finish.....
  17. for some reason i like the old formula better....idk why though.
  18. I think you would be very surprised at what people will pay for, if they know the job they are getting they arent afraid to dish out the cash. I've been detailing for a few years now and i can say by far the BEST thing that ever happened to my busines is starting to post after detail shots on Facebook and Instagram. I first said i would stay away from full paint corrections, but have found myself doing 1 every week or two. Paint corrections seem to bring so much extra business it's ridiculous. I also work full time M-TR 6:30-5, and run my detailing on the side. If your curious about pricing from someone that doesnt run a full blown shop 24/7 let me know if i can help!
  19. Definitely feels good, even better that I finally had time to detail my own instead of a customers! I appreciate the kind words, Sir!
