  1. I've bought from NOS Parts Ltd. out of TX, Green Sales Company out of OH, NOS Only out of CA and Wesley Obsolete out of KY.
  2. Thanks. I probably should have given the wheels more of a chance, especially after I added the chrome trim. Oh well.
  3. Thanks. Yes much quieter and much cooler. The bare floor got really hot without anything on it.
  4. Now on to the detailing. This is how the truck looked when the guy I purchased it from got it. He polished it and did a good job bringing it back to life and now I'm trying to take it to the next level. I'm starting underneath and here is this weekends quick work - passenger wheel well. I used a combination of correcting polish with 4" pads and a drill and revive for the corners I couldn't access with the drill. Nothing is terribly dirty just tired and dried out looking. Before After
  5. Time for an update on the Bronco's progress. I sold the slot rims pictured above almost immediately after finishing them. Just didn't like them enough to run them over the stock hubcaps. Then decided to add some of the chrome trim from the sport/ranger models as well as chrome bumpers. Ford parts are being used where available (and affordable). On the inside I added sound deadening and carpet, re-foamed and recovered the seats and built a center console so I would have some cup holders!
  6. Awesome cars but I'm still not sold on the new body. I had a 2008 Z06 I think the 2013 427 convertible would be my vette of choice if I were buying one today.
  7. Great idea. Have you considered expanding this to a new forum section where you post the submissions and answers so others can see the recommendation? This could help folks without asking you directly and you could build a database of Q & A with the pictures. You could title the thread with year/make/model of the vehicle and a one or two word description (i.e., exterior - polish, exterior - wax, interior - leather, interior - carpet, engine - cleaning, wheels - polish, etc., etc.). You could lock the forum section down to not allow replies so that it keeps it clean or open it up and let people have at it like the rest of the forum.
  8. Looks good! That is the spot I often go to for car pictures. Do you live in the area?
  9. Swapped out the original, tired front springs today to level up the front.
  10. It's not 100% clean, but pretty close. A lot of the surface is chalky and very dried out. Probably just oxidation from age. I have both revive and in and out on hand that I will try out. I don't expect it to look great I just want it to look more uniform and finished.
  11. Looking for some suggestions on cleaning the hood underside of my old Bronco. I've tried APC and a number of other things but still haven't found anything that is giving me great results. Some of the hood is painted but not all of it. Any suggestions?
  12. Thanks guys. It's a fun ride and gives me something to tinker with. Am currently recovering front seats and then plan on replacing some suspension components.
  13. Got the slot rims put on tonight. Didn't get a chance to VRT them but will do so this weekend.
  14. Thanks guys. The rims were and still are pitted pretty badly. You can see where the lip mounted wheel weights and the center cap did their damage. I sanded from 150 grit up to 800 grit and then machine polished with black and green compounds before using metal polish 1 & 2. I probably have 15 hours in sanding/compounding and could have spent 10 to 20 hours more to get them even better but I lost interest and just wanted to get them done. The condition is much better and they look appropriately old to match the Bronco. Will post more pictures once I get them finished and on the truck.
  15. Picked up a set of late 1970s F150 aluminum slot rims a few months ago and have been slowly bringing them back to life. Here are a couple of before and after pictures. Final polishing courtesy of metal polish 1 & 2. Hope to have the rims on the Bronco within the next week. Before: After:
  16. My 2011 GMC crew cab driver rear door drips like you are describing. It will keep going for a couple hours. I have a master blaster that helps but I don't always use it unless I know I need to drive the truck soon after washing.
  17. Nice video Adam's. I also like the demo vehicle and the tanker desk(s) in the office. Is the office full of vintage furniture?
  18. Here are some additional pictures I snapped yesterday.
  19. Thanks guys. Bronco is base truck with 302, 3 speed manual, 4.11 rear and parchment rosette bucket front seats and rear seat. Truck options were power steering, skid plates, spare tire carrier, mud & snow tires, AM radio, headliner, auxiliary fuel tank, hand throttle and head bolt heater. The original owner was a lady. Truck was obviously used more like a Buick than a Bronco. I think it had to have been garage kept based on condition. Maybe you guys know otherwise, but don't think Montana is a horrible spot for older cars in good condition. Fairly dry climate except when snowing. I know of at least two other Bronco owners that have pulled clean trucks out of the state. Will post more detailed pictures as I go through it. Adam - Your rims look like late model Bronco Alcoas. What size tires are you running? Any lift?
  20. Several posts down I have a thread about my 1977 Ford Bronco I bought back in October of last year. Well it wasn't exactly what I wanted so I sold it in January. Started looking for another Bronco immediately with original paint, rust free and uncut rear fenders. Found one from a guy on the Bronco forum and it is a beauty. Truck has 39K original miles and was in Montana from new until 2013. Below is a picture from tonight coming off transport truck and a couple from the prior owner.
  21. I say debadge. Here is my Sierra with all emblems removed.
  22. Last picture of the Bronco. Transport will be here within an hour to pick it up for its new owner. Really like the early Bronco and am starting to look for a replacement immediately. I want to try to find an original paint, uncut truck and had to move this one before I can buy another.
